Abstract
Description
Verfahren und Vorrichtung zum Herstellen und Füllen vonMethod and device for making and filling
Beuteln sowie zu deren Verpackung in Kartons.Bags and for their packaging in cardboard boxes.
There are numerous for forming and filling bags or sacks Known machines in which, as in the subject matter of the present invention, a continuous, pliable material web is formed into a tube, which is then is closed in the transverse direction in such a way that an open Bag for receiving the particulate filling material to be packaged and below the closure point creates an already filled, closed bag or sack. Simultaneously with the closure takes place in the area of Locking point a separation of the hose, with a portion of the closure being closed Bottom of the bag lying above the closure point and another area of the Closure forms the head end of the bag lying below the closure point. The separated bag or sack lying below the closure point is then placed in a pick-up point and, if it is also placed in a cardboard box is to be fed to a cartoning station. Such a device is in the U.S. Patents 2,154,521 and 3,774,509 are disclosed. In the known devices various difficulties arise in the introduction of the, as above described filled bags or sacks due to the more vertical than horizontal Structure and in particular due to the properties of the filling material, namely the lack a certain shape, its weight, its volume or the lack of it Volume. In the case of a vertically constructed machine of the type in question, the Filling material using gravity through the hose into the trained Bag filled, whereby it due to its particle structure to expand the lower The end of the bag tends, giving the bag a pear-shaped shape and only is difficult to bring into a carton of a given size. If it's yourself If the contents are heavy, this also tends to close the closure at the bottom of the bag to tear while this is still weak, while when pouring light and voluminous contents of the bag is filled over a greater height than it The only way out is to use a larger one Cardboard boxes remain, which is naturally uneconomical and also seen by the user is undesirable. The invention is therefore based on the object of a packaging method to create on a vertically arranged machine of the type described above, with which the aforementioned disadvantages of the known solutions are essentially eliminated can be.
The inventive method for packaging a particulate Filling goods in a flexible bag or sack and together with this in a cardboard box includes the formation of a continuous flexible hose section, its transverse closure with the formation of a bag section above the closure point, the filling of the bag section lying above the closure point up to a certain one Degree of filling, the feeding of the filled bag section to one held underneath, Cardboard box open on top and, when the bag is inserted into the box, its lateral limitation to the cardboard cross-section. During or after the application In addition, the bag can be shaken in the carton for precise cross-section adjustment to reach the cardboard cross-section and voluminous contents to one fill level that does not exceed the height of the box. The hose is already in front its filling shaped according to the cardboard cross-section, while on the other hand the filling material through the hose to the bag section lying above the closure point is already supplied during the formation of the closure point. The procedure includes doing a heat weld of the hose, during which the bag is filled the seam thus formed remains pinched and areas of the bottom of the bag open underpinned on each side of the seam. The separation of a filled bag of the subsequent bag section to be filled takes place simultaneously with the Filling process, whereby the severing takes place either in the area of the sealing point, so that a part of the closure is the head part of the below the closure point lying bag and another part of the closure the bottom of the above the closure point lying bag portion forms, or below the closure point, so that the filled bag remains open on the top. In both cases, the pouch will be underneath The effect of gravity is placed in the box and, if it is not yet closed at the top is then locked.
The method also includes folding the flaps of the box after inserting the bag.
The device for carrying out the method explained above comprises a vertically arranged tube forming and filling machine with a hollow mandrel, with means for moving the shaped tube downwards on the Shaping mandrel sote with locking and separating means to transform the hose into Bags or sacks. Invention according to the lower part of the mandrel designed so that its cross-section is essentially the inner cross-section of the cardboard corresponds to, in which the bag is to be introduced, while below the closure and separating means further means are arranged, one of which is substantially the lower Have the end of the mandrel corresponding cross-section and pick up the bag as well as a carton held underneath. The feed means have opposite, channel elements held on opposite sides of the downward moving bags, with their upper ends close to the underside of the sealing and separating means and end with their lower ends just above the cardboard box. So a box can be brought into position under the channel elements, these lifting and Assigned lowering means, furthermore at the lower ends of the ducts means which and side areas engage in the carton to keep the closure members upright, and means for vibrating the channel elements. The closure and release agents have in one embodiment gripping jaws that form a transverse sealing seam are movable away from each other and away from each other in a horizontal plane, and the are heated at the same time. The cutting means include cutting knives that are used to cut through the locking point between the head and bottom parts of the gripping jaws in one horizontal plane are movable. Optionally, the gripper jaws can be positioned below the Eliminate cutting plane, so that the separating means the hose below the closure point cut through. According to the invention, the tops of the gripping jaws are relative wide, flat surfaces on which the bag rests during the filling process can hang up with its underside, while at the same time a means is provided, that the locking jaws in the system during the entire filling process holds at the locking point. For feeding cardboard boxes into a position under the Forming mandrel in which the filled bags can be deposited by gravity a conveyor is provided while beyond in the direction of movement of the conveyor of the mandrel means are arranged with which the bags within the cartons are closable, if the closure has not previously taken place, with which furthermore, adhesive can be applied to at least one closure flap of the cardboard boxes and with which the flaps can be folded into the closed position.

As can be seen in Figures i and 2, the inventive Device designed as a vertically constructed form and fill machine, the one Base frame lo has on which a hollow form and filling mandrel 12 is held vertically is to which a flexible material web 14 is fed and on it in a continuous Tube is converted, with a funnel 16 above the mandrel for feeding the Filling is arranged.
At the lower end of the mandrel are means 18 for advancing downwards of the formed tube and sealing and separating means 2oa, 20b for reshaping of the hose into bag sections and for separating the bag sections into individual bags intended. In the axial direction of the mandrel is also a seam-forming element 19 for arranged continuous formation of a side seam. All of these features of the device are conventional and in one or more of the patents mentioned above already revealed.
After molding and filling, it is common for this type of construction to use the Put the bag on a parking space and then through a sponsor or the like from there to a cartoning point, provided the bags should be placed in cardboard boxes.
Since the particulate filling material tends to settle on the bottom of the bag Bags, however, are not dimensionally stable, they must be placed in the packaging boxes difficult. As shown in US Pat. No. 3,314,210, attempts have already been made to to overcome this difficulty that the bag in its shape only is partially filled, then directly into one under the shaping and filling tube The cardboard box kept ready is deposited and only then completely filled. In contrast the present invention provides the complete filling as well as the introduction of the filled bags into the cardboard boxes in one operation. The hollow mandrel is for this purpose 12, as can be seen in FIGS. 1, 3 and 7, at its lower end with a cross section formed, which corresponds essentially to the inner cross-section of the cartons, in the bags are to be introduced. If these cardboard boxes have a rectangular cross-section own, the lower end of the mandrel is accordingly with right-angled Cross-section formed. Because of this shape, it has the lower end the mandrel pulled off the tube formed from the web of material a substantially the cross-section corresponding to the interior of the cardboard box. If desired, one Using cardboard with a cross-section other than a rectangular one becomes accordingly the lower end of the mandrel formed with an adapted cross-section, so that the tube leaving the lower end of the mandrel is in turn adapted to the carton Cross-section received. The deduction of the designed in this way, which has a side seam Hose from the lower end of the mandrel takes place, as shown in FIG. 3, by driven Bands 22-22 disposed on opposite sides of the mandrel.
The boxes C in which the filled bags are to be placed 1 as shown in FIGS. 3, 11 and 12, through a grant 24 brought under the mandrel, the conveyor being timed with the filling process one carton each is conveyed under the mandrel, for gentle guidance of the filled According to the invention, guide means are provided in the open sides of the cardboard bags which, as Figures 3, 6 and 8 show, are a pair of opposed channel members 26-26, which under the closure and release means, but over the open Upper sides of the cardboard boxes lying on the conveyor 24 are held. Each of the channel elements 26 has a side wall 28 and front and rear walls arranged at right angles thereto 30-30 for interaction with the side areas as well as the front and back landings the shaped pouch. As FIG. 8 shows, they work together to form an opening whose cross-section essentially corresponds to that of the lower end of the forming and filling mandrel coincides, so that the filled bags are taken up by them when they are lowered and fed to the open top of the carton with a simultaneous bulging the bag sidewalls is prevented; in other words, serve the channel elements 26 for maintaining the cross-sectional shape of the bags when they are removed of the mandrel and filling mandrel. The upper end of the channel elements is, as Fig. 3 and 6 show with conically widening inlet areas 29 to ensure the Introducing the bag into the channel.
The guide means comprising the channel elements 26-26 are opposite the conveyor 24 held up and down movable, with them associated means movable are used to keep the front and side covers in the box are insertable. To bring about such a movement, the channel elements, as can be seen in FIGS. 6 and 10, between the front ends of a pair of arms arranged with in the transverse direction at a distance from each other arms 3i-31, whose rear ends attached to a horizontal axis 32 are, which in turn is held at the opposite ends in bearing members 34-34. As shown in FIG. 9, the bearing members have vertical slots 38-38 for receiving them of fastening bolts 42 through which the height of the guide means can be adjusted. A pneumatic cylinder is also on a carrier 46 below the guide means 44 arranged, from which a rod 48 stands upwards, which via a bracket 5o is pivotally connected to an arm 52, the upper end of which for receiving the ends a shaft 54 attached to the front end of the arm 55 is fork-shaped is. The rear end of the arm 55 is attached to the axle 32. Coil springs 56-56 connected at one end to axle 54 and at the opposite ends are connected via a rod 58 to the carrier 46, normally lead to a Depression of the arm 55 into the horizontal position shown in FIG. 8. at Pressurization of the cylinder 44, the arm 55 and thus at the same time also the Channel elements moved upwards so that the top carton ends of the ones underneath are in position cartons to be brought are free.
The means to keep the front and side flaps upright have downwardly extending portions 62-62 and 64-64. Parts 62-62 include vertical extensions of the end walls 28-28. and have beveled corner areas 66-66, so that during the downward movement of the channel elements the beveled areas between Engage the front and rear flaps and push them aside. The parts 64-64 are relatively small plates which are arranged on horizontally Spindles 67-67 are pivotably held, the spindles in turn on the carrier plates 68-68 are attached which are screwed to the end walls 28-28 of the channel members are. On the spindles arranged springs 70-70, one end 72 of which the support plates 68-68 and fixed with their other ends on the parts 64-64 are, press, as shown in broken lines in Fig. 9, the plates on top of each other to, as soon as the channel elements are raised to their upper position. When the channel elements are lowered, the top ends of these pieces come with abutments 76-76 in Engagement, which are attached to angle members 77-77, causing an outward displacement is brought about in the position shown in Fig. 9 in solid lines and forcing the end flaps outwardly to vertical positions.
The angle links have slots 79-79 for receiving bolts 81-81 with which they are adjustably attached to the straps 34-34.
In an embodiment shown here in FIGS. 5 and 6, include the locking means 20a a pair of opposing jaws loo-loo, which are horizontal are held movable towards and away from one another, as well as extending vertically have flat surfaces 1o2-1o2 with which the front and rear sides of the hose to close a narrow one, extending from the head side to the bottom side of the cheek surfaces extending hose section are compressible, as shown in FIG. The jaws are heated to form the seal, but it is understood that im Self-closing material can also be used within the scope of the present invention, which forms a permanent seal when pressed together.
The jaws are dimensioned vertically so that the formation of a closure area is possible, which is separable between the upper and lower edge and a closure at the lower end of the sachet above the jaws and a closure brings about at the upper end of the bag lying under the sealing jaws.
The separating means 20b comprise separating knives 1o4-1o4 which are inserted into the jaws loo-loo are embedded and after the joining of the jaws for cutting through of the closure area can be moved horizontally. When using-an arrangement this construction is released immediately after opening the locking jaws the bags sitting underneath and moves under the action of gravity the guide means down into the carton.
Under certain circumstances it may be desirable to see the below The top of the bag on the top of the sealing jaws is opened until it is placed in the box to leave, including the lower areas below the cutting knife 1o4-1o4 the jaws are beveled loo-loo, as can be seen in FIG. 6A, so that the closure can only take place above the separating knife. Below the cutting knife the tube is not closed on the other hand, so that the separation The bag section formed of the tube is opened at the top by the guide means slides into the box. In this type of operation, as shown in FIGS 12 show a means lol for closing the upper ends of the bag is provided with the the closure takes place when the bags are in the boxes and these through the conveyor is carried away from the lower end of the forming and filling mandrel.
In the known form and fill devices of this type thereby an annoying problem that the weight of the to be brought into the bags Filling material, especially with relatively heavy filling material, the bottom seam of the Bag tears before solidification, which is why in the present invention the Locking jaws loo-loo on their upper sides, as can be seen in FIGS. 5 and 6, flat support surfaces 78-78 are provided on which the during the filling process Bag bottoms can rest on both sides of the sealing seam.
Fig. 5 shows the shape of the lower end of the bag before filling, which roughly corresponds to the shape that is found when filling with very light Filling material results. Heavier contents press against it. the bottom of the bag in attachment the areas 78-78. The operation of the device is designed so that the The locking jaws remain in contact with the bottom seam until the bag is complete filled and sufficient time has elapsed for curing and in order to a solidification of the closure allows before the closure jaws again be withdrawn and the bag for insertion into the one below Carton is lowered. An additional advantage results from the fact that the support surfaces 78-78 contribute to the formation of a bag, the entire length of which has a substantially uniform cross-section. This becomes a maximum Filling volume with minimal bag length is achieved even when the bottom Closure is designed in the manner of a pillowcase. It goes without saying that the bag Within the scope of the invention, a folding base can also be obtained, for which purpose, as shown in FIG can be seen, wrapping or folding elements 80-80 of conventional design are provided which are arranged so that they are over the head side of the locking jaws and are horizontally movable inwards under the lower end of the mandrel. If a closure in the manner of a pillow case is to be produced, the impact or folding elements not included in the workflow. There are also provided below the closure and separating means wrapping elements 82-82 which, like the upper wrapping members, inwardly movable, and the upper ends of the bags drive in if so desired.
As already stated above, the guide means comprise the channel elements 26-26, which are used to maintain the bag cross-section in a substantially are arranged in a shape corresponding to the shape and cross-section of the cardboard, when the bag is lowered from the mandrel to the top of the carton. It is possibly advantageous to ensure a symmetrical packaging cross-section and an even distribution of the product from the bottom to the top of the Bag to shake this and either during the downward guide to the carton or after weaning in the box. For shaking the bag the downward guide towards the box, as shown in FIGS. 6, 9 and 1o, attached to a horizontal shaft 86 eccentric 84-84. The eccentrics 84-84 lie hardened plates 88-88, which in turn with the undersides of the arms 31-31 so are united that one rotation of the eccentric drives the arms at high speed raise and lower by a small amount. The shaft 86 is doing, like the Fig. 2 shows, rotated from a pulley 80a, one end of a belt 92 rests. The opposite end of the drive belt 92 is around a pulley 94 placed on the output shaft 96 of a motor 98.
Instead of a vibration of the channel elements in the one previously described Way to trigger, in the context of the present invention, a shaking of the Cartons themselves are done while they are on the conveyor 28, including how the Figures 12 and 13 show the underside of the conveyor 24 held in connection Eccentric 9i are provided. The eccentrics 91 are attached to shafts 93, which in turn, chain wheels 93a are permanently assigned, around which a chain 93b is placed. One of the shafts 93 is via the bevel gears 95, 97, a shaft 99 and the bevel gears 1o3 and 105 connected to the shaft 86.
In the operation of this device, the packaging of a voluminous filling good of low weight that does not change during the filling process settles very well in the bag, done in such a way that the bag becomes a larger one Filling level is replenished. Than it corresponds to the depth of the carton, and the bag then separated from the subsequent bag as well as either by the guide means or when setting down in the carton lying on the conveyor in the one previously described Way is shaken, the voluminous product is compressed so far that the vertical filling height of the bag no longer exceeds the depth of the box. In the Using this procedure, the open top is closed of Bag through the closure means lol in the carton, as shown in FIGS. 11 and 12 demonstrate.
If the bags remain open until they are placed in the box, are, as mentioned above, the closing means lol for closing the open ends as well as the means 107 for folding the closed ends into the carton and means for closing the front and side closing lids of the carton according to the Representation in FIGS. 11 and 12 is provided.
If, as FIGS. 11 and 12 also show, one with a bag filled carton by the conveyor from the lower end of the form and filler is moved to the right in the illustration in Fig. 12, the front and rear become Closure flap by folding rails 111-111 lying parallel and at a distance from one another pushed aside.
The closure means 1o1 comprises the jaws 113-113, which are similar to those jaws shown in Figs. 5 and 6 and in a horizontal plane Movable to and fro over the head end of the container moving on the conveyor are arranged. The open tops of the bags are separated between the two Baking brought while closing a scanning device in the form of a photocell PC the jaws on the upturned pouch head to form a seal trigger. The jaws depress the end wall flaps as they close aside and hold the leading flap down while when moving the jaws apart a pneumatically operating pressure piston 115, such as FIG. 12 shows in contact with the leading flap up to an almost horizontal one Position is pressed down, so that the leading flap with the further movement of the cardboard in contact with the underside of the spaced rails 117-117 arrives and remains held down. A folding blade 119 with an inclined edge 121, which lies above the path of movement of the top of the box, folds the upwards protruding, closed head part of the bag into a level Move inside the open top of the box. At the same time is on the bottom the rear flap by means of an adhesive applied to the one Have pair of rollers 123a1 123b and a pot 125 from which the lower roller 123a the adhesive is supplied. Located next to the folding and adhesive application means means 127 which cooperates with the underside of the leading flap and fold it backwards and downwards over the top of the box. At this point the front end of the box interrupts another photocell P'C ', whereupon a magnet-operated, for one rotation effective coupling 131 a hook 133 under the tightened Closing flap leads and this forward and down on the open top of the Folds cardboard boxes so that both the leading flap and the one that is dragged along Now move the flap under a rail 135. The advancement of the cardboard box brings the front and rear flaps into contact with the spaced apart Folded rails 137-137, which are initially the rear flap covered with adhesive inwards and over the end flaps and then open the front flap brings the upper, adhesive-coated side of the rear flap.
The procedure described above and the previously described Device allow the packaging of a particulate product on a Way that uses maximum bag capacity with minimum bag size and the bag is light and has a tight connection on all sides, i.e. both in the transverse direction as well as from top to bottom tightly fitting into the box, whereby a completely filled carton appears, which ensures a complete acceptance by customers is highly desirable.
During a single working cycle, the locking jaws are above a pouch shaped at its lower end closed and is open at its upper end, while below the sealing jaws a bag is formed, which is closed at its lower end and either at its upper end can be closed or open. The filling process takes place with merged Locking jaws, while the separation occurs after the locking process. In connection the locking jaws and the separating knives are withdrawn during the filling process, whereupon the separated bag can slide into the box underneath and the filled bag for closing and separating from the subsequent bag can be lowered. When the bag is lowered from the sealing jaws a shaking. If the top of the bag has remained open, the closure takes place this upper side within the carton as it moves from the mandrel, whereupon the flaps are folded over the top of the box. These operations are timed so that there are repeated cycles as long as Operations are carried out by kinematic means by limit switches or pre-punched tapes are controlled.
It is understood that the embodiments described above represent only example implementations of the invention, within the framework of which many changes are possible.
