Description
The invention relates to a device for chemical Descaling the steam iron.
Dies hat den Nachteil, daß man die Dampfkammer nicht bis zum Rand füllen kann, da sonst die Dampfkammer überläuft und die Flüssigkeit die Aufstellfläche beschmutzt oder auf der Bügeleisensohle häßliche Streifen hinterläßtSteam irons that run on tap water have the unpleasant property of being after a relatively short time, i.e. depending on the degree of hardness of the tap water used, to calcify. These limescale deposits - known as scale - have the unpleasant property of to reproduce further and further in the steam system, so that the steam chamber and the steam channels clog. This results in unusable steam irons. It is known that in the case of steam irons, the To close off the iron soleplate arranged steam chamber by a plate. This plate can be removed and the steam chamber can be descaled mechanically. But it has been shown that this solution in practice is very unsatisfactory, since certain hard limestones cannot even be used with pointed and sharp objects and remove the steam channels from the steam chamber to the steam outlet openings like this cannot be descaled. There is also the risk that the valve system will be damaged. It is Also known to descale household appliances with chemical agents. These chemical agents are at The steam iron cannot be used satisfactorily. Would you put the descaling agent in the storage tank pour it to bring it to the appropriate places via the drip valve, it would after a short time emerge again from the steam outlet openings on the sole, as the steam channels are never completely from the Limescale are clogged. This would have the disadvantage that the chemical agent does not stay on the lime long enough can act to solve this. The chemical agent would move from the sole into the open Filled with the steam chamber, only a small amount corresponding to the volume of the steam chamber could be used input. This has the disadvantage that you cannot fill the steam chamber to the top, otherwise the steam chamber overflows and the liquid stains the installation surface or on the soleplate of the iron leaves ugly streaks
The invention is based on the object of avoiding these disadvantages and providing a device with the steam iron can be satisfactorily descaled.
This object is achieved according to the invention by an elastic profile seal adapted to the outer shape of the soleplate, which during the descaling process is stretched over the soleplate of the iron.
weist die Profildichtung einen umlaufenden Rand auf, der im Einbauzustand unter Bildung eines schalenartigen Beckens die Bügeleisensohle an der dem Bügeleisengriff abgewandten Seite überragt.the profile seal has a circumferential edge which, in the installed state, forms a shell-like Basin protrudes beyond the soleplate on the side facing away from the iron handle.
The area around the steam iron cannot be soiled by leaking limescale solvents and ugly streaks cannot form on the soleplate of the iron. The device has another great advantage that at the same time the entire floor surface of the soleplate is cleaned and the limescale deposits can be removed even if the steam chamber is not opened.
Es zeigtAn embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawings and will be described in more detail below described. It shows
F i g. 1 ein Dampfbügeleisen mit der erfindungsgemäßen Entkalkungseinrichtung,F i g. 1 a steam iron with the decalcifying device according to the invention,
The device shown in the drawings consists of a profile seal 2, which in the working position shown is stretched over the soleplate 1. The profile seal 2 is with a provided circumferential edge 3 which protrudes beyond the soleplate 1. This creates over the entire Soleplate 1 and the steam chamber 4 arranged therein, a bowl-like basin 5 for a chemical descaling agent. The mode of operation is as follows: The one connected to the profile seal 2 The steam iron is set up in such a way that the soleplate of the iron faces away from the footprint. In the Bowl-like basin 5 is entered a chemical lime solvent. The exposure time of the solvent depends on the concentration and solubility of the limescale to be removed. After all limescale deposits have dissolved, the steam iron is cleaned and the profile seal 2 removed.
