Abstract

The pressure cooker safety lock comprises a bayonet engagement between the pan (11) and lid (15) which is closed by a seal which if the bayonet engagement is not complete is raised from the sealing surface by means of one arm of a balance (17). The balance (17) has two lift arms (20, 21) which are mounted symmetrically to the actuating arm (19) which projects into the path of movement which is followed by the actuating peripheral segment (12) of the pan during opening and closing.
