Es wurde gefunden, daß, wenn man den 7 · 7'-Dinitrothioindigo sowie dessen Substitutionsprodukte, wie 7 · 7'-Dinitro-5 »5'-dichlorthioindigos mit Reduktionsmitteln, unter welchen die Alkalisulfide, alkalische Glucoselösungen usw. sich als besonders geeignet erweisen, behandelt, sich die Nitrogruppen zu Aminogruppen reduzieren lassen; es werden hierbei sehr wertvolle Küpenfarbstoffe erhalten, welche sich durch große Lichtechtheit und sonstige gute Echtheitseigenschaften auszeichnen und1 die Faser in der Küpe in grünlichgrauen bzw. blaugrauen Tönen anfärben.
