Abstract

The energy recovery arrangement which utilises energy normally lost in internal combustion engines, has an exhaust gas driven turbine which actuates a heat pump for drawing heat from a refrigerating agent and from the exhaust gases. The thermal energy produced is sufficiently high for making conversion into mechanical energy profitable because of high temperature. The power generated can be used for generating electrical energy required in the internal combustion engine. This arrangement eliminates the use of other generator drives.
