Abstract

The photographic enlarger with automatic focussing control operates an a simple lens formula. The focal length of the lens of the enlarger is not a constant value, but has a linear relationship to the value of the deflection from the true path. The enlarger itself is constructed such that the lens is moved in relation to the negative carried by the enlarger head by means of linkages, in such a way that a constantly focussed image is produced on the enlarger base board no matter what magnification is subsequently used.
