Verfahren zur Herstellung von Schallplattenmatrizen. Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 5. März 1911 ab.Process for the production of record matrices. Patented in the German Empire on March 5, 1911.
Man war natürlich auch jetzt in der Lage, von der hergestelltenThe previous method of making dies for pressing the records existed in the fact that a copper deposit was produced from the original recording in wax, which is mostly used as a depot plate found. From this first counter-form one also turned to electroplating Path a replica, also in copper, and from this in turn . by electroplating, also again in copper, for the press shop certain press die. Of course, one was also now able to use the manufactured one
- Nachbildung eine Anzahl solcher Arbeitsgegenformen in Kupfer herzustellen und bediente sich hierbei einer der bekannten Methoden, welche geeignet waren, diese Arbeitsgegenformen von der Kupfernachbildung nach erfolgter Herstellung wieder abtrennen zu können.- Replica of a number of such working counter-forms in copper and used one of the known methods that were suitable for these working counter forms to be able to separate from the copper replica after production has taken place.
Außerdem haftete diesen kupfernen'Matrizen derThe treatment of the chemically extraordinary strongly reacting copper with such intermediate layers always caused a decrease the subtleties of sound waves. In addition, the copper matrices stuck to the
The drawback was that, since they were made of soft copper, they were easily damaged during pressing and, moreover, because of the softness of the copper, after a certain number of impressions they were crushed under the hydraulic press and became too sharp. It was therefore always necessary, even if no accidents during pressing destroyed the dies, to replace these dies as a result of the fineness being reduced by being squeezed under the press. Another drawback with these previously manufactured matrices was that the necessary nickel plating of such plates could only be applied in a very thin layer in order to retain the subtleties of the writing to some extent. Naturally, this weak deposit wore off very quickly, and there is also the danger that this thin nickel layer, which never bonds intensively with the copper base, will be lifted off in places during the pressing process. The present method eliminates all of these shortcomings, and a die is created which can be used countless times and which is characterized by particular hardness, further in that the surface, which is directly with the substance used for pressing in ; Contact can be made from a strong nickel deposit.
Als Nickel- und Stahl- bäder kommen, wenn man überhaupt auf dem harten Wachs direkt arbeiten kann, nur kalte Bäder in Frage, und die bei solchenAccording to the American patent 688739, a process is described from. to produce a counter-shape of copper, nickel or steel for the receiving wax plate, but only the well-known copper production comes into question, since only can use the current densities in copper baths at normal room temperature, which belong to the achievement of a normal work speed. As nickel and steel Baths come, if you can work directly on the hard wax at all, only cold baths in question, and those in such
Baths permissible current densities can then not exceed 0.5 Amp. Per square decimeter can be increased.
Mail kannAccording to the present method, however, the original wax recordings are used in the usual way a metal counter-mold made either from copper or from Nickel with docking reinforcement can exist. This first counter-form is now after the same is nickel-plated, in a heated galvanoplastic bath in a short time Application of high current densities creates a heavy nickel deposit, and it is on top of it conveniently an interlayer of a more ductile metal than nickel in quite thinner Layer applied, such as copper, whereupon the reinforcement to the desired Thickness is produced by electroplating in a likewise heated iron bath. Mail can
Such a replica can be obtained in 4 to 5 hours using the modern Elektro-Iyte that is now available at normal thickness from a / 4 to Y 2 mm, and this replica already has a thick nickel coating, which will never be removed from the iron layer behind it. separates. The production of the counter-molds used for the press shop now takes place in the same way, in that after a brief treatment with various chemical substances, a stronger nickel deposit is again generated on the nickel surface of the replica, which has already been polished to a bright shine. This is again provided with a thin coating of a metal, which has a lower absolute hardness than the nickel, and the reinforcement to the desired strength is also brought about again in the hot iron bath. If this procedure is followed, it is easy to separate the counter-forms produced in this way from the replica, and you immediately get the nicely polished nickel-plated surface without the need to polish it, namely in the form of a very hard film, which is in in the same way, as was customary up to now, it can be soldered onto copper, brass, and even sheet iron for reinforcement. The subtleties of the handwriting do not suffer in any way during the procedure, and according to this method it is possible to produce any number of working counter-forms from the replica, which cannot be distinguished from one another in terms of their accuracy. In addition, one achieves a far greater speed of work in the production and an enormous reduction in the cost of the material.
