Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum Aufhalten der Rüben in den Schwemmrinnen bei Betriebspausen und dient als Ersatz der bisher üblichen., in senkrechten Führungen beweglichen, rostartigen Schieber. Diese bisher gebräuchlichen Rostschieber hatten den Übelstand, daß sie durch fließende Rüben in den Führungen festgeklemmt wurden, und daß daher die Schließung mittels Fernregelung durch Seile oder Ketten eine sehr unzuverlässige war. Mit dem in Fig. ι bis 4 in zwei Ausführungsformen abgebildeten Schwemmrinnenverschluß ist ein zuverlässigeres Aufhalten der Rüben dadurch gewährleistet, daß der Verschluß aus zur Stromrichtung geneigten Zinken b besteht, die mittels der Hebel c pendelnd bei α gelagert sind. Infolge der geneigten Stellung der Zinken b zu den Pendelhebeln c wird von den fließenden Rüben eine Zusatzkraft ausgeübt, welche zusammen mit dem Eigengewicht des Pendelverschlusses das Bestreben hat, diesen nach unten zu ziehen. Bei der Ausführungsform nach Fig. 3 und 4 ist der Pendelverschluß umgekehrt wie bei Fig. 1 gelagert. Bei dieser Anordnung müssen die Pendelhebel c mit einem Rost d versehen werden, damit die Rüben nicht von oben in die Schwemmrinne gelangen können.The invention relates to a device for holding the beets in the washing troughs during breaks in operation and serves as a replacement for the previously customary, grate-like slides which are movable in vertical guides. Patent claim:

Closure for beet chutes, characterized in that it consists of several prongs (b) which are inclined to the direction of flow and together form a grate, which are pivoted by means of the levers (c) in such a way that when they are let into the chute they are caused by the living force of the flowing beets are pulled down and thus bring about a secure closure of the channel.
