Medien wie Gasen und Flüssigkeiten, die mit verhältnismäßig geringem Druck gefördert werden sollen, z. B. Absorptions- und Destillieranlagen, Abwasserleitungen mit geringem Gefälle, stehen nur geringe Vordrucke zur Verfügung, so daß möglichst keine Widerstände durch Absperrventile auftreten dürfen. Am äußeren Ende trägt die Spindel auf ihrer Außenseite eine Verzahnung 9 in die eine Antriebsschnecke 10 eingreift. Durch Drehen eines Handrades 11 wird die Spindel kreisbogenförmig bewegt.
