The subject of the invention is a tea or coffee strainer, by means of which any "strong" or "weak" drink can be prepared.

The sieve device is composed of an outer, egg-shaped housing, which consists of two parts c and b and is provided with openings e at the top, and an inner, sieve-like housing, also consisting of two parts 0 and p . On the cap c of the outer housing, a rubber ball α is fixed, to which an inner cap q is rotatably connected, which has holes corresponding to the openings e of the outer cap c.

The tea or coffee m is poured into the interior of the sieve-like housing p and closed with the lid 0 by a threaded closure. Then this housing p 0 is placed in the interior of the housing b on the supports k still carrying a ring k ' provided with holes I and housing b is closed by the cover-like cap c (FIG. 4) by means of a bayonet catch d .

The ready-to-use sieve device is hung in the vessel intended for preparation into which boiling water has previously been placed.
