Die Steifigkeit kann im Hinblick auf die Forderung nach ausreichender Abstützung der Rückenmuskulatur des Benutzers innerhalb eines gewissen Bereichs liegen. Bei der Verwendung von Holz sind die Versteifungsteile vorzugsweise aus hochwertigem Sperrholz in einer Dicke von etwa 6 bis 9 ran gefertigt. Bei Verwendung von Kunststoff oder Metall ist eine entsprechende Steifigkeit vorzusehen.
