The invention relates to a method for producing hydrogen gas, which is inexpensive to produce and can be used for chemical reactions or as fuel.
It is already known to make hydrogen gas, by adding magnesium to water. However, the amount of hydrogen gas thus generated is extremely small. Even when using hot water, the yield can not be increased significantly, so that this for practical applications is not sufficient.
With this in mind, years of research have been carried out to solve this problem, large quantities of an extremely pure hydrogen gas to be able to generate in a relatively short time.

The invention is therefore primarily based on the object of providing a method for producing very pure hydrogen gas to be specified in a short time.
The invention is also based on the object of utilizing a large number of different materials, which occur almost everywhere on earth, especially in sea water or in waste dust or in waste solutions, which arise in metal factories or smelting works or soft present in industrial waste that accumulates in rivers or on the seabed.
The solution to these problems is that in a process for the production of hydrogen gas, water Magnesium is added, which is mixed with a metal or non-metal such as silicon, aluminum, iron, zinc, tin, Nickel, boron, red phosphorus, chromium, copper, manganese, carbon, calcium, potassium, titanium, sodium, zircon, or is mixed with one or more compounds of the metals or non-metals listed, the catalytic Effect of these metals or non-metals or their compounds in the mixtures obtained serves, the reaction to produce magnesium hydroxide to accelerate considerably to ultimately produce considerable quantities of an extremely pure hydrogen gas.
In this method according to the invention, large amounts of an extremely pure hydrogen gas are generated at a very high combustion temperature of about POOO 0 C, which can be used as fuel for energy generation in factories or on ships or in households. The method according to the invention is extremely simple and, moreover, the materials which serve as catalysts are regenerated and reused, so that the manufacturing cost is low.

The hydrogen gas produced according to the invention is generated no contaminating components, neither during manufacture nor during incineration, being a large numbers of materials occurring on earth can be used as catalysts when magnesium is obtained so that an energy source can be produced at any time and in any place that is free of Impurities is.
Since the waste solutions of metals or chlorides, which are a cause of public nuisance, find use as excellent raw materials in this process for producing hydrogen gas, so contributes the invention also contributes to the elimination of environmental pollution.
According to the invention, the above-mentioned elements or compounds act as catalysts in the following reaction:
Mg + 2 H2 O ~ Mg (OH)p + H2 Mg + 2 H 2 O ~ Mg (OH) p + H 2
In this way, large amounts of hydrogen gas are immediately generated.
If elements or compounds of good quality are used, hydrogen gas is formed which is formed developed stormily, as if the mixture was boiling. The energy released here can be used accordingly will. Approximately 930 ml of hydrogen gas are produced per giamm of magnesium recovered, however, there may be differences depending on the nature of the catalysts, the largest being the largest Yield is achieved with catalysts such as chlorides or metals, while with silicon and carbon the lowest yield is achieved.

In this and other catalysts, however, it is better to add either sodium chloride or potassium chloride to the catalyst in order to increase the formation of hydrogen gas more effectively. Namely, based on the experimental results according to this invention, a stormy reaction occurs when two kinds of the above-mentioned compounds are used, one of which is a chloride, specifically sodium chloride or potassium chloride, or a metal chloride, and the other is iron, chromium or copper. The formation of hydrogen gas is then very active. A comparison of the amount of hydrogen gas obtained from a mixture consisting of two grams of magnesium,? 5 6r sodium chloride and 3 grams of iron with that obtained from a mixture consisting of 2 grams of magnesium and 3 grams of iron, shows, under the same reaction conditions, that in the latter case the amount does not even reach 1/3 of the amount obtained in the first case, from which it follows that a chloride considerably increases the amount of hydrogen formed.
With regard to the compound ratio of magnesium with other elements or compounds of these elements, if more than two of the above-mentioned elements or compounds are used, the amount of magnesium in the mixture is 10 to 50%, that of the chlorides 5 to 70 % and that of the catalysts 5 to 40 c / o. In this case, if magnesium and the catalyst, which may be in the form of particles or dust, are mixed by stirring vigorously before adding 8 times the amount of water based on the above-mentioned mixture, hydrogen gas in a generated satisfactory amount.
When magnesium is used in lump form, it is first introduced into water before the catalyst or the Chloride is added.

In this case, the temperature of the solution rises due to that generated by the formation reaction of the hydrogen gas Warmth on; however, it is still possible to promote the formation of hydrogen gas by, moreover, the Solution is brought to a safe temperature.
When the hydrogen gas produced according to this invention is analyzed by a gas chromatograph, it can be found that even the gas produced using ordinary water or sea water contains more than 90% hydrogen. The other components consist of oxygen and nitrogen derived from the air dissolved in the water used. However, it has been found that the amount of gas contamination does not even reach 0.1 ppm. Thus, a hydrogen gas with a purity of more than 99 % 9999 % can be obtained by removing oxygen and nitrogen from the air components in the gas.
The remaining reaction products, which after the formation Any remaining hydrogen when using normal water or seawater is separated and chemically regenerated and used again.
The following are some embodiments of the invention described.
1. Beispiel:1st example:
Prepare 10 grams of magnesium, 10 grams of sodium chloride, 7 grams of zinc and 7 6 grams of magnesium chloride. First, magnesium and zinc are mixed well by stirring and then an 8-fold amount of water per liter, based on the above-mentioned compounds, namely 270 ml, is added. If flhgnecium chloride and sodium chloride are added, hydrogen gas is violently evolved, about 2100 ml in 7 minutes. This hydrogen gas did not even contain 0.1 ppm gas impurities and had a heat capacity of about 3000 Kcal. When fed to a burner, it burned with a blue-white flame, making it suitable as fuel for small generators for households and small workshops or factories.
?.. Beispiel;?.. Example;
There are 10 grams of magnesium, 7 grams of copper (II) chloride, 10 grams Manganese and about 10 times that amount of water are used. First, copper (II) chloride is added to the water and then magnesium and manganese are mixed by stirring, and the mixture is added to the water solution. This so generated hydrogen gas, which is stormy developed was about 2200 ml in 10 minutes.
The purity, the heat capacity and the use of this Hydrogen gases were with those of the after the first Example of extracted gas identical. Because the gas development was very stormy and the gas through some particles eus the reactants could be contaminated, it was purified by passing it through a filter or was blown through a layer of water.

Nahezu das gesamte im Gas befindliche Wasser konnte entfernt weiden, indem das Gas durch Schwefelsäure geblasen wurd e.Almost all of the water in the gas could be removed by blowing the gas through sulfuric acid became.
5. Beispiel:5. Example:
There were 8 grams of magnesium, 8 grams of iron and 10 grams of copper (II) chloride prepared. About 9 times the amount of these substances in sea water was used and the copper (II) chloride was added to the lake water. As the well-stirred mixture of magnesium and iron powder of the solution was added, hydrogen gas was violently evolved in an amount of about 2100 ml in 12 minutes.
The purity, the heat capacity and the use of this hydrogen gas were roughly identical to the first example «
4. Beispiel:4th example:
Iron powder and magnesium were mixed well by stirring in the water and then sodium chloride was added, while stirring continuously. Afterwards it became ferrous chloride entered, as a result of which very large amounts of gas, which developed very stormily, were generated and even with a constant generation rate of 208 ml / sec during the normal course of the reaction.
The hydrogen gas obtained after this experiment contained not even 0.1 ppm impurities and had a heat capacity of about 3000 Kcal, making it suitable for use as fuel can be used for power generation in small workshops or factories or in households.

The reaction proceeded gradually and yielded 1200 ml Hydrogen gas in? 5 minutes. Since the water carbon production Requires a certain amount of time and large amounts of starting materials have been used, the scope of application is this embodiment is limited.
6. Beispiel:6. Example:
8 then became eight times the amount of this subotance used in water, the ferrous chloride being entered first. Then the well-stirred mixture turned on Magnesium and zinc added to the solution. Approximately 1300 ml of gas was recovered in 20 minutes. The hydrogen gas obtained showed approximately the same purity, heat capacity and usability as that according to the example.

In this film, 50 g of ferric chloride in 1500 ml Dissolved water and then magnesium was added to the solution. About 900 ml of hydrogen gas was released in about 1 hour won. In this example, stirring was not required, the generation of the gas proceeded slowly, However, it increased at a steady rate and, moreover, the reaction efficiency was very good because almost all of the magnesium used has been converted into magnesium hydroxide.
8. Beispiel:8. Example:
The gas was while entering a solution of cupric chloride obtained with 1 gram of magnesium.

It could also be shown that the "volume of the sodium chloride ^; in the mixture is appropriate and if the particles and the size of the solid metal components (such as iron or zinc) are appropriate be selected so that no light particles can be thrown out by the stormy evolution of gas, co burns the hydrogen gas obtained with a noticeable transparent flame.
In summary, it can be stated that the invention is based on the advantage that there is no risk of producing a polluted gas, either during the manufacturing process or during combustion, so that no pollution problems are raised. Since the combustion also generates water vapor at a temperature of 2000 ° C., there is no risk of the room in which the combustion takes place being dried out. Extremely large amounts of hydrogen gas are obtained from very small amounts of the starting materials. On the other hand, since the gas generating apparatus is very simple in structure, it is very easy to operate to generate hydrogen which can be used whenever necessary, so that the invention is extremely useful. D ;; Since the raw materials can also be regenerated and reused, hydrogen gas can be produced at very low cost, so that the gas can be used not only as fuel for generating energy in small workshops or factories or households, but also for the chemical industry and for generating steam energy is useful, and large amounts of hydrogen gas are required, so that the economic and technical efficiency of the invention is very great.
