Description
The invention relates to a die for embossing plastic, in particular plastic webs, according to the The preamble of claim 1, as well as a method for producing such a die and a fabric web to carry out the procedure.
AS 12 20 586).It is known to have an embossing stamp with a tough, elastic support body and a hard steel surface to use for embossing plastic surfaces with a wood character, whereby the stamp surface is made of a synthetic resin cured under pressure and heat, containing a carrier film, whose Surface has the negative embossing including the pores of a real wood veneer. As synthetic resin only a melamine-formaldehyde, Urea-formaldehyde or phenol-formaldehyde resin used (DE-AS 12 20 586).
The manufacture of these dies requires high pressures of at least 2 N / mm 2 (20 kg / cm 2 ). At such high pressures the surface of the male part, ζ. B. a surface made of a natural wood veneer, so badly deformed that the die is no longer the exact image of the original wood surface or other surface to be mapped. This is particularly true when producing matrices from male molds from embossed papers. It is clear that such male molds may only be exposed to a very low pressure load if the embossing is not to be lost. A further disadvantage of these known stamping dies is that high pressures of at least 2 N / mm 2 (20 kg / cm 2 ) must also be used during the stamping. This means that the die has a very short service life. Damage to the die often occurs after around 10 impressions, and more than 100 impressions can practically never be carried out with one die.
Als geeignete Kunstharze werden in dieser DT-AS extrem harte, wenn nicht sogar spröde Harze genannt Es wird alsoSo it emerges from DE-AS 12 20 586 that »about 100 «coins can be seen as very economical. It is also stated that in Using softer surfaces the die would naturally wear out faster. As suitable Synthetic resins are called extremely hard, if not even brittle resins in this DT-AS. So it is
Hinweise, welche Maßnahmen man ergreifen
nicht entnehmen.ίο stated that useful results can only be obtained with those film surfaces which are extraordinarily brittle and therefore sensitive to impact and shock.
In the journal "Kunststoffe", 1955, page 443, it is stated in the right column that unsaturated polyester resins can be used in mold construction. This citation does not contain any indications as to which measures must be taken in order to produce an embossing die that has a long service life.
About the production of highly flexible foils with one suitable for embossing Surface nothing is said in this reference
Diese Aufgabenstellung konnte nun überraschenderweise dadurch gelöst werden, daß die Oberflächenschicht der Prägematrize aus einem ausgehärteten, ungesättigtenThe present invention is based on the object of finding an embossing die that is attached to low pressure can be produced with which can also be embossed under low pressures and which has a long service life even at the high temperatures used during embossing. These The problem has now surprisingly been achieved in that the surface layer of Embossing die made from a hardened, unsaturated one

The subject of the invention is thus a die for embossing plastic, in particular plastic webs, consisting of a carrier layer and a surface layer, the surface layer being made of hardenable Plastic, which is characterized in that the surface layer consists of a hardened, unsaturated polyester melt resin.
The invention also relates to a method for producing the die, which is characterized in that a paper web coated asymmetrically with curable unsaturated polyester melt resin together with a fabric web at temperatures starting from about 135 ° C to ending about 150 0 C, and a Pressure of 0.5 to 3.0 (N / mm 2 ) can be pressed.
The pressing time is about 5 to 20 minutes. Towards the end of the pressing, the pressure becomes slow dropped off. The die can then be removed from the press while it is still hot.
Es ist deshalb möglich, diese Matrize zu einemThe advantage of this film-shaped die is due to the use of a fabric web nor in the fact that it is extremely flexible and can be bent, for example, by radii of 8 cm can. It is therefore possible to turn this die into one

Aufgrund der großenbo to connect endless tape, with which then continuously extraordinarily long strips of carrier bodies impregnated with synthetic resin can be embossed. The die, which is joined together to form an endless belt, can then rotate on rollers. Because of the great

Die Gewebebahn muß bei Temperaturen von übert>"> Durability of the die according to the invention, up to 1000 embossings can be carried out with one die.
The fabric web must be at temperatures of over
Im allgemeinen wird eine ausreichende Festigkeit erhalten, wenn die Gewebebahn etwa 0,2 bis 0,4 mm stark iststill be stable at around 240 ° C. The reason for this is that usually at such high temperatures is coined. Particularly preferred as fabric webs are those made from correspondingly temperature-resistant Plastic fibers or threads. Fabric webs made from polyester fibers have proven to be particularly suitable which are commercially available as polyester filter cloth. The fabric panels used should not calendered and still capable of absorbing synthetic resins, so that there is a solid bond with the others Layers of the embossing die occurs The thickness of the fabric webs depends on the desired Requirements and the intended use. For example, webs of fabric with a thickness 0.1 to 1 mm can be used. In general, sufficient strength is obtained when the Fabric sheet is about 0.2 to 0.4 mm thick
The fabric web can also consist of metal threads, natural fibers, glass fibers or mixtures of the above named fiber or thread types exist. Because natural fibers are generally not what you want Have sufficient temperature resistance, they must generally be pretreated in such a way that they withstand the temperatures mentioned. Such a pretreatment can be in a coating or Impregnation with appropriately temperature-resistant synthetic resins exist.
The surface layer of the die consists of unsaturated polyester melt resin. With this melt resin, a carrier body, preferably a paper web with a weight per unit area of about 60 to 130 g / m 2 , is asymmetrically impregnated: rt. So-called (5-cellulose papers or soda kraft papers when hardening during the production of the embossing die through the paper and into the layer underneath, namely the fabric web, breaks through and thus secures the bond.
The paper is impregnated with a melt resin amount of 120 to 350 g / m 2 , preferably 150 to 250 g / m 2. The amount of impregnation depends on the particular purpose and in particular the strength of the profile of the die. The thickness of the coating naturally also depends to a certain extent on the weight per unit area of the paper, ie heavier papers can be impregnated with larger amounts of polyester resin.
Exemplary embodiments of matrices according to the invention are shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 shown.
Aufgrund der unsymmetrischen Beschichtung befindet sich das Kunstharz überwiegend an der Oberfläche 2a.In the simplest case, the die according to the invention contains apart from the fabric web and the one with Unsaturated polyester hot melt resin impregnated the paper web with no further layers. This embodiment is in FIG. 1 shown. In this figure, 1 denotes the fabric web and 2 denotes the asymmetrical Polyester hot melt resin impregnated paper web. Due to the asymmetrical coating the synthetic resin is predominantly on the surface 2a.
Derartige Zwischenschichten bestehen ausi mit Kunstharz imprägnierten Trägerstoffen, dieSuch matrices are extremely flexible due to their simple structure and are suitable therefore especially for the production of circumferential embossing die foils, as already explained above became. Embossings of very good quality can be achieved with it. However, if particularly high Requirements are placed on the quality of the embossing and / or if the embossing is discontinuous Surface pressing should be done, it is to increase the durability and the quality of the embossing It is expedient that intermediate layers are arranged between the fabric web 1 and the impregnated paper web 2 will. Such intermediate layers consist of carrier materials impregnated with synthetic resin, which
Such an intermediate layer consists of a 60 to 130 g / m 2 heavy paper web impregnated asymmetrically with polyester hot melt resin, the polyester hot melt resin lying predominantly on the side facing the fabric sheet, and one to three glass fiber fleeces impregnated with unsaturated polyester hot melt resin . The paper web impregnated with polyester hot melt resin in the intermediate layer can be of the same type as the impregnated paper web on the surface of the die, that is, papers and polyester hot melt resin layers can be used for this, as described above in connection with the surface layer.
The glass fiber fleeces impregnated with unsaturated polyester hot melt resin weigh about 40 to 60 g / m 2 and are impregnated with about 400 to 500 g / m 2 polyester hot melt resin. It is particularly advantageous that the polyester melt resin used to impregnate these glass fiber fleeces contains powdery fillers such as asbestine, talc, silicates, aluminum oxides and / or pigments in an amount of up to 60% by weight, preferably about 40 to 60% by weight . This ensures that the relatively large amount of polyester melt resin does not flow too strongly during the pressing process during the production of the embossing die.
This embodiment is shown in FIG Intermediate layers shown. The fabric web is again denoted by 1. This is followed by the Polyester hot melt resin asymmetrically impregnated paper web 4, in which the majority of the Melt resin lies on the side that faces the fabric web. This predominant amount of hot melt resin is denoted by 4a. This is followed by the one impregnated with unsaturated polyester melt resin Glass fiber fleece 3 on. As already stated, several such glass fiber fleeces 3 can be present. as The top layer is followed by the impregnated paper web 2, its asymmetrical melt resin impregnation is designed such that the predominant amount of hot melt resin at 2a is the working surface of the die forms.

Such Resin-impregnated paper webs give the embossing die very good strength properties because they form a tough-elastic core. As a consequence,
daß die Prägematrize sehr gleichmäßige Prägungen von hoher Qualität liefert.that the stamping die provides very uniform stampings of high quality.
For the second layer, paper webs with a weight per unit area of about 30 to 150 g / m 2 are used, the synthetic resin impregnation of which is 50 to 400% by weight, based on the weight of the paper
If the surface structure of the embossing die is particularly strong, it is advantageous that the surface layer consists of an asymmetrically impregnated paper web weighing 60 to 130 g / m 2 and one or two natural and / or synthetic fiber fleeces impregnated with unsaturated polyester melt resin. In this way it is achieved that a particularly thick layer of cured polyester hot melt resin is on the surface, which has the ability to perfectly record and reproduce particularly large structures. This embodiment is shown in FIG. 3 shown.

In order to obtain a particularly high proportion of polyester melt resin on the surface in the sense of the last described embodiment, the embossing die according to this embodiment also contains an additional layer 6, which is a natural and / or synthetic fiber fleece impregnated with polyester melt resin. The fleece used for this is a mixed fleece made of viscose fibers with added cotton. Such fleeces are commercially available. These nonwovens have a weight per unit area of about 60 to 80 g / m 2 and have an impregnation of about 130 g / m 2 .
