Abstract

The peg is brought into contact with the sheets to be joined and is hydraulically pressurised via a punch and the metal sheets are punched as a result of the applied pressure and the peg material fills up the punched hole. In the prefd. method a locating pad, i.e. a die table with a suitable cavity, is provided additionally to the punch.
