Die Lösung dieser Aufgabe besteht darin, daß das Bremsband keilförmig ausgebildet ist und in eine entsprechend keilförmige Nut der umlaufenden Bremsscheibe eingreift. Durch das keilförmige Profil wird das Bremsband in die Nute der Bremsscheibe beim Abbremsen hineingezogen und dabei in Drehrichtung mitgenommen. Wegen der Keilwirkung wird gegenüber dem bekannten flachen Bremsband eine erhöhte Reibung und damit größere Bremskraft erreicht.
