Es hat sich nun gezeigt, - daß man diesen Farbstoff in eine für seine Verwendung als Pigmentfarbstoff besonders geeignete Form bringen kann, wenn man ihn mit Reduktionsmitteln, zweckmäßig Kohlehydraten und Alkali, in der Wärme behandelt,The indanthren has been known because of its outstanding. des Indanthrens oder ähnlicher Küpenfarbstoffe in zum Färben geeignete Lösungen (Küpen) bezwecken, und bei denen der Zutritt
von Luft möglichst verhindert und eine zur vollständigen Lösung hinreichende Menge
Lösungsmittel angewendet werden muß.
Der nach vorliegendem Verfahren erhaltene Farbstoff weist als Pigmentfarbstoff eine we-
- sentlich größere Farbstärke auf als das angewandte Produkt, was vielleicht darauf zurückzuführen
ist, daß er eine feinere Verteilung besitzt oder eine Form angenommen hat, die
besonders leicht kolloidale Lösungen zu liefern vermag. Außerdem zeigt der in der beschriebenen
Weise erhaltene Farbstoff als Pigment eine wesentlich leuchtendere und grünstichigere
