Zwischen dem Saugtrichter und dem Boden der Ölwanne muß ein Mindestabstand vorliegen, damit genügend Querschnitt vorhanden ist, um beim Ansaugen des Schmieröles, insbesondere bei kaltem öl, den Ansaugwiderstand klein zu halten. Aus Pertigungsgründen muß aber eine Toleranz zugestanden werden, so daß dieser Abstand doppelt so groß wie der Mindestabstand werden kann. Das hat den Nachteil, daß bei abnehmende» Ölstand, insbesondere bei Kurvenfahrt oder beim Befahren von Steigungen und Gefällen oder auch beim Bremsen und scharfen Beschleunigen, der Saugtrichter aus dem ölspiegel herausragt.
