Abstract
Composition for oral ingestion comprises defined amounts of protein, carbohydrates, fats and minerals. Composition for oral ingestion comprises (per daily portion): (a) protein (4-6 g); (b) carbohydrates (60-80 g), including less than 15% sugar and less than 1 g lactose; (c) fat (18-25 g), including less than 5 g saturated fatty acids (FA), 8-13 g monounsaturated FA, 5-8 g polyunsaturated FA and 1-3 g omega-3 FA, where the ratio of omega-6 FA to omega-3 FA is less than 5; and (d) sodium (less than 300 mg), potassium (less than 80 mg), calcium (more than 200 mg), magnesium (more than 40 mg) and phosphorus (less than 15 mg), where the quotient of phosphorus to protein is less than 2. ACTIVITY : Nephrotropic. No biological data given. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given in source material.
