Abstract

Profile for a sliding sash, comprising:

Description

FIELD OF USE

The present invention relates to a profile for a sliding sash which can advantageously, but not exclusively, be used in sun protection structures such as pergolas or other fixed structures for outdoor use.

A pergola is a structure that has the function of covering and protecting, possibly also on the side, for civil purposes, mainly as a complement to residential areas, but also to commercial areas, exhibition areas or public areas according to the regulations that regulate the sector.

The pergola can also be provided with lateral, optionally sliding, covers, such as curtains or glazing, which enable it to be closed off and therefore isolated from the external environment.

The wings are provided with corresponding sliding members, each comprising a carriage which is arranged within a specially designed profile that is attached to the wing at its lower edge.

STATE OF THE ART

It is known in the art of sun cover structures to provide glazing on one or more peripheral sides to laterally close the space defined below the cover or within the pergola. It is also known that at least some of this glazing can be selectively opened and / or swung open through sliding glass panels known as “slide glass”.

In such systems, two or more glazings, or sashes, are provided that can move relative to one another to selectively close or open side access. Usually a sliding member with carriages or rollers, which is arranged in the lower part of each wing, and a series of parallel rails on which the carriages of each glazing run in a straight line, are provided in sliding glazing. In the upper part, the glazing runs freely within corresponding profiles. There are also sliding links in which the carriage runs along an upper guide and the glass is guided directly in the lower part.

Among the known solutions, those which allow the glazings to slide in parallel and in which the movement between the various glazings is carried out by pulling between one glazing and the adjacent glazing are particularly appreciated. The operation for opening and closing is mainly manual, in that the user pulls a first wing, which is arranged outside or inside relative to the pergola in relation to the others, and brings the others towards it. There are also solutions in which the actuation takes place in an automated or semi-automated manner. However, the cost of this type of technology is still too high to be widely adopted.

Usually the carriage is inserted in a specially designed space within an aluminum profile that is attached to the lower edge of the sash. The wings are also provided with a seal between the lower section of the profile and the ground in order to block an undesired influx of water, for example due to rain, or to limit the entry of drafts, small insects, dirt or other. The seal is fastened in a respective receiving seat which is provided below the carriage space.

In known sliding members it is provided that the carriage is inserted from below, i.e. from a longitudinal side, through an opening which then allows the carriage wheels to pass through, so that the sliding of the wings is made possible.

Since the profiles are typically produced by extrusion, they are supplied with the space mentioned above, which is closed by the four long sides. It is therefore necessary to remove the lower wall of the room in its entire width and over a length such that it allows the insertion of the carriage. This removal is usually done by milling.

A disadvantage of this known solution is that the milling operation - because it is carried out over the entire width of the lower wall of the room, so that the passage of the entire carriage body is made possible - brings operational difficulties with it, which are mainly associated with the vibrations that are generated during the milling step, especially on the side walls. In addition, this machining interrupts the seating of the seal, thereby defining a gap in the attachment of the seal, which is disadvantageous for the hydraulic tightness of the system. In other words, there is no seal on the carriage.

It should also be said that the insertion of the carriage from below is not only laborious, but also requires the front closing of the profile with a plug that is attached to the carriage and on Profile must be fastened with screws. This solution can present an aesthetic drawback which is not appreciated because it necessarily requires the lateral positioning of the screws and therefore the visible positioning of their heads or, in any case, anti-aesthetic bores on the profile for the insertion of pins or other things.

There is therefore a need to improve a profile that can overcome at least one of the disadvantages of the technique.

In particular, it is an object of the present invention to provide a profile for sliding sashes which is to be produced more simply and quickly.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a profile that enables the carriage to be mounted within the profile, which should be quicker and easier.

Another aim is to prepare a method for assembling the carriage within the profile.

In order to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art, and to achieve these, as well as other objects and advantages, the applicant has developed, studied and implemented the present invention.

DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is expressed and characterized in the independent claims. The dependent claims explain further features of the present invention or variants of the main solution concept.

In accordance with the above objectives, the profile comprises two opposite side walls, a first transverse wall which is connected in the longitudinal direction to the two side walls and which, at a first longitudinal edge of the side walls, delimits a first receiving seat for an edge of a glass wing, and a second transverse wall , which is also connected in the longitudinal direction to the two side walls and which, on a second longitudinal edge of the side walls, delimits a second receiving seat for at least partially receiving a roller of a carriage.

The first and second transverse walls are mutually spaced so that they delimit a third receiving seat for a carriage which is arranged between the first seat defined above and the second seat defined above.

According to one aspect of the invention, the second transverse wall comprises a through-opening which is particularly suitable to enable the roller of the carriage to be received, which has a width which is smaller than the width of the second transverse wall, so that a pair of longitudinal projections is defined, projecting inward from opposite parts from the two side walls, respectively.

The through opening extends lengthwise to only one free end of the second transverse wall, i.e. it is open at this end and is closed at the other end.

The fact that one has a through-opening which is open at a longitudinal end of the second transverse wall (together with the pair of longitudinal projections) makes it possible for a carriage to enter the receiving space no longer through the second transverse wall, but only through the open end of the profile , where the second transverse wall is also open. In addition, the pair of longitudinal projections prevents the carriage, after it has been stored, from escaping due to gravity from the receiving space through the second transverse wall. In this way, the carriage is encompassed both laterally, by the two side walls, and vertically, by the first transverse wall and by the two longitudinal projections.

Since the through opening is closed at the other end, the displacement of the carriage in a direction extending longitudinally to the profile is blocked, at least towards this end. In addition, since a full cross-section of the second transverse wall is provided, thereby closing the through opening, a fastening member for the carriage can be formed therein.

The profile preferably comprises a connection seat for a seal, which is arranged in the second receiving seat and on one of the longitudinal projections. The connection seat extends over the entire length of the profile, including on the rollers of the carriage. The connecting seat does not overlap with the through opening.

Advantageously, the profile comprises two connection seats for as many seals, both of which extend over the entire length of the profile. In an even more preferred manner, each connecting seat is arranged on a respective longitudinal projection.

With regard to another advantageous aspect, the profile comprises a lateral receiving seat which is formed in a side wall and on the third receiving seat, or at the same level, and is open at the end of the profile where the through opening is open. In this way you can also add any external accessory, for example a driver block or a driver link, store that is attached to the outside and side of the carriage.

The invention also relates to a sliding member for a sliding sash which comprises a profile having one or more of the above features and a carriage which is inserted within the third receiving seat of the profile.

In the second receiving seat, the sliding member advantageously also comprises a seal which extends over the entire length of the profile. In an even more advantageous manner, the sliding member comprises two seals which extend over the entire length of the profile.

According to another aspect, the invention relates to a sliding sash comprising a panel, a profile which is attached to an edge of the panel and which has at least one of the above aspects, and a carriage which is inserted within the third receiving seat of the profile.

According to yet another aspect, the invention provides a method for assembling a sliding member for a sliding sash, comprising the steps of providing a profile having one or more of the above features, providing a carriage and inserting the carriage in the third receiving seat of the profile through the end of the profile where the through opening is open.

Before it is inserted, the carriage is advantageously provided with an outermost end closure element which is suitable for closing the open end of the profile at least on the third receiving seat, preferably also on the first receiving seat. In this way, the insertion of the carriage into the profile also brings about the closing of the open end of the profile. Preferably the outermost end closure element is formed in a single body with the carriage.

Before describing the embodiments, it is further clarified that the present description is not limited in its application to the details of construction and arrangement of the component, as these are described in the following description using the accompanying figures. The present description is capable of other embodiments and of being practiced or implemented in other different ways. It is further clarified that the phraseology and terminology used here are for the purpose of description and are not to be regarded as limiting.
