State of the art:

In order to process fruit, it is usually necessary to clean it beforehand and prepare it, in particular to shred it, according to the intended use.

Accordingly, the invention relates to a fruit conveying and chopping device comprising a fruit conveyor with an inlet and an outlet, a downstream fruit chopper, with a chopping inlet, a chopping outlet and a drive motor. It is characterized by the fact that the drive motor for driving the fruit shredder is arranged in a horizontal orientation when ready for operation.

This means that the drive motor is located on the side of the fruit shredder and not in the vertical orientation of the fruit shredded and thereby secreting fruit juice and thus outside its drip and spray area and is therefore largely protected from the effects of moisture and the resulting damage.

The fruit crusher can e.g. be designed in the form of a knife mill.

The axis of the fruit shredder is preferably also arranged in a horizontal orientation when ready for operation.

This has the further advantage that the requirements for the sealing of the drive motor with respect to the fruit shredder are significantly reduced in comparison to vertically oriented drive motors. Because in these the drive shaft is basically permanently in the fruit juice, whereas, in the case of the horizontal arrangement of the fruit juice according to the invention, gravitational and centrifugal forces run away from the motor shaft.

According to a preferred embodiment, the fruit crusher is pivotably arranged on the fruit conveyor by means of a three-point joint, in particular with a hinge with three joints, in order to enable a stroke parallel to the sealing surface when the fruit crusher is pivoted away from the fruit conveyor.

This three-point joint allows easy movement (swiveling) of heavy loads even by a single person. This allows the heavy motor (approx. 30 kg) to be mounted horizontally on the fruit mill.

Due to the parallel stroke when swiveling, the seal in between is protected by an even load.

The three-point joint can furthermore have a guide for a hinge pin in order to form a limit for the parallel stroke of the fruit shredder when it is pivoted.

The guidance of the three-point hinge can form a side stabilization for the hinge pin in order to prevent the fruit shredder from being displaced to the side when pivoting.

At least one connecting web to a second three-point joint can be arranged on the three-point joint in order to prevent independent movement of the two three-point joints.

Together with the connecting bars and the massive design of the three-point hinge and due to the horizontal arrangement, the sealing of the motor against fruit juice does not have to be as high Meet requirements.
