Description

Transporting a lock on a bicycle is often a hindrance. It is too heavy, too big or small, or takes up too much space and therefore reduces the driving characteristics. It rattles and scratches the paint and the time it takes to wind it around the wheel is too big. Although there are brackets for locks on the wheel, but these are only suitable for smaller U-locks. Using a smaller, lighter lock, one is quite limited in terms of locking the wheel around both tires and larger items, such as a tree. The security against theft is therefore lower. Wrapped around the body, the previous locks are also a hindrance while driving. It is either too big, because it is not adjustable in size, or it is too small and does not fit around the body at all.

Observations have shown that many experienced cyclists / consumers reacted to it. They further developed their acquired lock by extending it to the body with an extra strap or string. This increases the circumference without increasing in weight. A comfortable transport on the body is possible. The conventional lock is reused or reused.

The demand for such a product, which combines / meets both of the above-mentioned properties, is therefore there and has not yet been satisfied. With the invention (described in protection claim 1) of a size-adjustable bicycle lock ( 1 ; 2 ), which is optimally suitable as anti-theft protection of the wheel, but also just as well fulfills the second use as a belt, the above problems are solved ( 5 ; 5 ).

The basis for this is the form and function of the conventional cable tie in a completely new context and another dimension. These are combined with a contemporary closure system (closing mechanism). In addition, the "Bikebinder" gets through its combination of materials (Grafik_4) an additional benefit (described in protection claim 2):

A luminescent plastic coating ( 3 ) makes that possible. This allows the lock to recharge during the day and to function as a glowing belt or warning signal around the upper body in the dark.

Inside the belt is a special metal core ( 3 ), which gives the entire lock its necessary stability and additional flexibility and security.
