Neben konventionellen Schlitten zur gleitenden Bewegung auf Schnee und Eis, die aus Holz gefertigt sind, sind auch solche aus Kunststoff bekannt. Gleitoberflächen mit tiefer Sitzposition beschrieben, dessen Grundkörper aus einem Gemisch aus Propylen und Ethylen oder von daraus abgeleiteten oder diese enthaltenden Polymeren gebildet ist. Der Grundkörper verfügt über einen Gleitboden, eine dem Gleitboden gegenüberliegende Sitzfläche und eine an die Sitzfläche anschliessende Beinauflagefläche. Aus der Beinauflagefläche steht ein Halte- und Steuergriff hervor, der eine Sollbruchstelle aufweist und der in den Grundkörper einschraubbar ist. Der Halte- und Steuergriff kann auch im Grundkörper versenkbar ausgebildet sein. Bei einem ähnlichen Minibob ist der Steuergriff an erhöhter Stelle auf den Grundkörper geklebt, die Sitzfläche ist nach oben gewölbt. Der Gleitboden oder eine Lauffläche können mit Kufen versehen sein, die konkav oder konvex gebogene Längsseiten aufweisen, und die Seitenränder der Lauffläche können mit einer Metallkante oder einer weiteren Kufe versehen sein.
