Bekannt für diesen Zweck sind die Schnittstellen NEM 651, NEM 652, NEM 653 und NEM 654. Diese unterschiedlichen Schnittstellen verbinden je nach Verwendungszweck oder Baugrösse den Decoder mit der Platine des Modellfahrzeuges. Leiterzüge auf der Überbrückungsplatine C verbinden nun die jeweiligen Kontakte gleicher Verwendungsart. So zum Beispiel Motorkontakt rechts Kontakt E1 mit Kontakt D19 oder Motorkontakt links E2 mit D18.
