Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for positioning the welding head during welding adjacent parts along the welding gap formed between them, the Position is determined with the help of a sensor.
It is known to adjust the position of the welding head of welding devices in this way control that the line of contact, i.e. the welding gap or the gap opening between the parts to be welded together with a sensor and the Welding head is guided on the basis of the determined, contact line to the Weld seam exactly in the gap opening area between the two adjacent To apply workpieces.
In the optical image scanning by the light section method with a light source, for. B. a semiconductor laser diode with multiple stripe projection optics, and a sensor, e.g. B. a CCD camera, the gap opening area by a reflection jump or Jump in height of the reflected strip-shaped light lines in a light section light projection shown, on which the welding head is then positioned when the weld seam is applied and is led. To track the weld area based on the height jump in For example, the light section light projection requires that at least three Height jumps from a total of z. B. five light lines can be recognized exactly. Otherwise it will the seam is not recognized or is lost. Because of the dimensional deviations not Always the same position of the parts to be welded together and often small gap width during welding, that without laser or electron beam welding Filler material may be less than 0.2 mm, but prepares it in industrial practice often difficulties, the reflection jump (height jump) in the light projection to represent and thus the contact gap between the parts to be connected detect. This results in incorrect welding head positioning, so that the Weld seam cannot be applied exactly along the gap opening or the The weld seam can be "lost".
The invention is therefore based on the object of a method for positioning the Welding head by scanning the gap opening area of the adjacent parts specify with a sensor that is at least largely independent of dimensional tolerances an exact weld seam formation along the welding gap is guaranteed.
According to the invention, the object in a method according to the preamble of Claim 1 solved by a sensor spaced from the welding gap free edge of one of the parts to be welded together is scanned and the Welding head in the previously determined distance between the welding gap and the Detected free edge of this is positioned and guided offset to the welding gap becomes.
In this way, the position of the welding gap to which the weld seam is placed should, at least largely independent of dimensional and positional deviations connecting parts and / or very small gap widths by detection and calculation can be determined without errors and, consequently, the welding head or welding beam exactly be positioned. Welding errors that result from not recognizing the position of the welding gap are therefore not, or at least hardly occur. The production high quality and solid welded joints are guaranteed.
The invention is preferably used in welding processes based on Radiant energy where the welding gap is due to unnecessary filler materials is particularly narrow, while for the detection of the free edge an optical image scanning with strip-shaped lines of light to represent the edge in question by a Jump in height (reflection jump) of the reflected light lines using the light section method is carried out.
The method can be advantageous in vehicle construction, especially in motor vehicles tool body construction can be used. In the subclaims and the following Description of an exemplary embodiment are further preferred features, expedient Developments and advantages of the invention specified.
Es zeigen:An embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail with reference to the drawing. It demonstrate:
Fig. 1 eine Teilansicht zweier zu verbindender, aneinanderliegender Blechteile im Schnitt im Bereich der Schweißstelle; und Figure 1 is a partial view of two sheet metal parts to be joined together in section in the area of the weld. and
Figs. 2 and 3 each show a view according to Fig. 1, but with positioned due to dimensional variations different from each other edge portions of the sheet metal parts.
Die Breite des Schweißspaltes 5, das heißt der Abstand zwischen der B-Säule und dem Verstärkungsblech liegt etwa bei 0,2 mm.Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3, a B-column to the bodywork of a motor vehicle are provided with a reinforcing plate 2 1, by a welded joint is produced in front seam position in the region of the welding gap 5 between the B-pillar 1 and the adjacent reinforcing plate 2 by laser welding. The upper edge of the reinforcement plate 2 is, as shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, due to permissible dimensional deviations at different heights with respect to the upper edge of the B-pillar 1 . The width of the welding gap 5 , that is, the distance between the B-pillar and the reinforcing plate is approximately 0.2 mm.
The detection of the position of the welding gap 5 is carried out with the aid of a CCD camera 4 connected to a laser strip light source, which is directed towards the free edge 2 a of the reinforcing plate 2 , that is to say the right edge in the drawing. Regardless of the apparent from the drawing position deviations in the region of the welding gap 5, the edge 2 is a always precisely monitored and in a corresponding light section light projection at any point of the optical scanning and for all the applied light stripe laser lines an the edge profile indicating altitude jump of the reflected laser lines clearly be made visible and detectable. The welding head 3 or the corresponding welding beam itself is offset by the known thickness "a" of the reinforcing plate 2 from the free edge 2 a or the height jump corresponding to the edge 2 a in the light-cut light projection to the B-pillar 1 . The energy beam of the welding head can thereby be guided exactly along the welding gap 5 , so that, despite the permissible dimensional deviations, an error-free welding of the B-pillar 1 to the reinforcing plate 2 can be achieved.
