Wenn ein Telephontischapparat auf den jetzt gebrauchten breiten, doppelten Schreibtischen aufgestellt ist, ist es in der Regel notwendig, daß eine der an dem Tische sitzenden Personen auf die entgegengesetzte Seite des Tisches gehen muß, um den Fernsprecher zu benutzen. Das Band/, welches auf der Mitte des Stativs α festgenagelt wird, ist ferner in fester Verbindung mit einem auf dem Schlitten h angebrachten Stück i, das teilweise um seine eigene wagerechte Achse bewegbar ist; es dreht sich mehr und mehr, je weiter der Schlitten sich von der Mitte des Rahmen's entfernt, und wenn der Schlitten sich dem Ende des Rahmens nähert, dann wird es sich so weit drehen und dadurch das Band f so stark gespannt haben, daß eine Bremsung des Schlittens bewirkt wird, der alsdann ohne irgendeinen Stoß angehalten wird. Die Anschläge j des Rahmens b dienen dazu, die Bewegung des Rahmens zu begrenzen.
