Description

Die Erfindung richtet sich auf einen Schaft für eine Hüftprothese umfas­ send einen im Oberschenkelknochen festlegbaren Verankerungsabschnitt und einen relativ zur Längsachse des Verankerungsabschnittes abgewin­ kelten Gelenkkugelabschnitt zum Aufsetzen einer Gelenkkugel.
Es sind zahlreiche Ausgestaltungen für einen derartigen Schaft bekannt, der im Oberschenkelknochen zementlos verankert wird. Herkömmlicherweise werden die Schäfte zur Herstellung einer solchen Verankerung in den Oberschenkelknochen eingeschlagen.
Zur Erzielung einer individuellen Anpaßbarkeit, gegebenenfalls auch inter­ operativ, ist es bekannt, den Schaft aus mehreren Elementen zusammenzu­ setzen.
Beispiele für die Ausgestaltung derartiger Schäfte sind die DE 32 05 577 C3, die DE 89 11 046 U1, die DE 33 36 004 C2, die DE 40 31 520 A1, die EP 0 368 488 A1, die EP 0 290 735 A1 sowie die EP 0 243 298 A2.
Aus der DE 43 20 086 ist es bekannt, den Verankerungsabschnitt des Schaftes mit einer sternförmigen Querschnittskonfiguration zu versehen, wobei die Sternzacken längsverlaufende Rippen ausbilden und dazu die­ nen, beim Einschlagen eine feste Verankerung zu bewerksteiligen.
Alternativ ist es auch bekannt, mit einem computergesteuerten Fräser, in weichem nach Art eines CNC-Werkzeuges die Außenkontur des einzuset­ zenden Verankerungsabschnitts abgespeichert ist, eine absolut paßgenaue Ausnehmung für den Verankerungsabschnitt zu fräsen, so daß dieser genau festgelegt werden kann.
Der Erfindung liegt ausgehend von dieser Verankerungstechnik die Aufga­ be zugrunde, einen Schaft der in Betracht stehenden Art so auszubilden, daß eine hohe Sitzfestigkeit erzielt wird.
Diese Aufgabe wird erfindungsgemäß dadurch gelöst, daß der Veranke­ rungsabschnitt wenigstens an seinem proximalen Ende einen asymmetri­ schen Querschnitt mit sich von einem Grundkörper wegerstreckenden, ab­ gerundeten Verankerungsansätzen aufweist.
Vorzugsweise ist vorgesehen, daß der Querschnitt eine etwa Y-förmige Konfiguration aufweist, wobei der Grundkörper dem Y-Unterteil und die Ansätze den hiervon wegstehenden Y-Armen entspricht.
Dabei ist vorgesehene, daß Y-Einbuchtung größenordnungsmäßig etwa 1/6 der großen Grundkörperachse beträgt.
Zum distalen Ende hin kann der Verankerungsabschnitt des Schaftes im Querschnitt symmetrisch auslaufen, endseitig insbesondere rund sein.
Durch die erfindungsgemäße Ausgestaltung ist es möglich, eine große Oberfläche zu schaffen, die eine dauerhafte Verankerung gewährleistet.
Durch die vorgesehenen abgerundeten Ansätze wird eine hohe Rotations­ stabilität erreicht und eine hohe Verdrehsicherheit gewährleistet.
Ein derart eingesetzter Schaft weist eine hohe Primärstabilität auf. Zudem wird der Vorteil erreicht, daß Spongiosa erhalten bleibt, die den Knochen versorgt.
Nachfolgend wird die Erfindung anhand eines bevorzugten Ausführungs­ beispiels in Verbindung mit der Zeichnung erläutert. Dabei zeigen:
Fig. 1 eine Seitenansicht eines erfindungsgemäßen Schaftes,
Fig. 2 eine gegenüber Fig. 1 um 90° gedrehte, nach oben abgebrochen ge­ zeichnete Ansicht und
Fig. 3 bis 5 Schnitte durch den Verankerungsabschnitt längs der Schnittli­ nien III-III bzw. IV-IV bzw. V-V.
Ein in der Zeichnung dargestellter Schaft 1 umfaßt einen Verankerungsab­ schnitt 2 und einen Gelenkkugelabschnitt 3, welcher sich vom Veranke­ rungsabschnitt 2 abgewinkelt wegerstreckt und einen Ansatz 4 zum Aufset­ zen einer Gelenkkugel aufweist.
Die erfindungsgemäß vorgesehenen Konturen sind überdies so gestaltet, daß der Schaft mit einem rotierenden Werkzeug ausgearbeitet werden kann.
Der Verankerungsabschnitt 2 weist in dem in der Zeichnung oberen, proximalen Bereich einen in Fig. 3 dargestellten etwa Y-förmigen Quer­ schnitt, im Mittelbereich einen in Fig. 4 dargestellten quadratischen Quer­ schnitt mit abgerundeten Ecken und im distalen, in der Zeichnungen unte­ ren Bereich einen runden Querschnitt auf.
Die in Fig. 3 dargestellte Y-förmige Gestaltung führt zu der beabsichtigten Rotationsstabilität bei großer Oberfläche.
Das Y-Unterteil 5 bildet den Grundkörper mit abgerundeten Ecken 6, 7, von welchem sich die Y-Arme 8, 9 als Ansätze seitlich nach außen weger­ strecken. Die Y-Einbuchtung 10 macht etwa 1/6 der Erstreckung der gro­ ßen Längsachse 11 aus.

Claims (4)

1. Schaft für eine Hüftprothese umfassend einen im Oberschenkelknochen festlegbaren Verankerungsabschnitt und einen relativ zur Längsachse des Verankerungsabschnittes abgewinkelten Gelenkkugelabschnitt zum Aufset­ zen einer Gelenkkugel, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Verankerungs­ abschnitt (2) wenigstens an seinem proximalen Ende einen asymmetrischen Querschnitt mit sich von einem Grundkörper (5) wegerstreckenden, abge­ rundeten Verankerungsansätzen (8, 9) aufweist.
2. Schaft nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Querschnitt eine etwa Y-förmige Konfiguration aufweist, wobei der Grundkörper (5) dem Y-Unterteil und die Ansätze (8, 9) den hiervon wegstehenden Y-Armen entspricht.
3. Schaft nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Y-Ein­ buchtung (10) größenordnungsmäßig etwa 1/6 der großen Grundkörperach­ se (11) beträgt.
4. Schaft nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Veranke­ rungsabschnitt (2) des Schaftes (1) zum distalen Ende hin im Querschnitt symmetrisch ausläuft, endseitig insbesondere rund ist.
