Da die Filterpatrone direkt in den Tank eingesetzt wird, erübrigt sich eine aufivendige Gehäusetechnik, die Gefahr einer Leckage besteht nicht. Aufgrund der tief angeordneten Wasserein trittsöffnung des äußeren Filtersiebs (5) kann der Wasserbehälter durch die Pumpe völlig entleert werden. Die Wasseraufbereitung erfolgt vorteilhafterweise im Aufstrom, so daß eine Bettverdichtung sowie Kanalbildung vermieden wird. Durch das in der Spitze der Patrone angeordnete Filtersieb (4) wird die Patrone automatisch entlüftet. Die Filtersiebe (4) bzw. (5) können z. B. als einfache Schlitzsiebe oder aus porösem Sintermaterial ausgeführt sein. Der Deckel (2) ist hier zur Zentrierung des Rohrs (3) konusförmig profiliert. Die Rohre (12), (3) sowie das Filtersieb (5) können vorteilhaft spritztechnisch an einem Stück hergestellt werden. Getränkemaschinen mit abnehmbarem Wasserbehälter enthalten in der Aufnahme (11) normalerweise ein mechanisch öffenbare Rückschlagventil (14), ebenso kann dieses jedoch auch in der Filterpatrone (1) angebracht sein. Ebenso kann der Wassertank auch fest mit der Getränkemaschine verbunden sein. Anhand der Skala (27) kann der Benutzer die Restkapazität der Filterpatrone ablesen. Selbstverständlich sind hier auch andere Anzeige formen wie Scheiben oder digital anzeigende Zähler oder andere Getriebearten möglich. Der Deckel (2) der Filterpatrone ist hier aus einem durchsichtigem Material wie Polycarbonat hergestellt.
