Die Maschen liegen vorzugsweise in Form von gewebten Bändern vor, die insbesonders 2 bis 6, bevorzugt 3 bis 5 mm breit sind und eine Zugfestigkeit von mehr als 50, vor zugsweise mehr als 60 kN·m-1 aufweisen. Die Maschenweite beträgt 5 bis 30, vorzugsweise 10 bis 20 mm. Die einzelnen Maschen des Gitters sind vorzugsweise wieder miteinander verbunden. Das Git tergewebe ist allseitig mit einem Klebstoff beschichtet. Der Klebstoff ist vorzugsweise ein thermoplastischer Kunststoff, der bei Temperaturen unterhalb der Schmelztemperatur des Polystyrols erweicht und in Form einer wäßrigen Dispersion auf das Gitter gewebe aufgebracht wurde. Geeignete Schmelzkleber sind solche auf Basis von Polyvinylpropionat, Polyacrylestern, Ethylen/Vinyl acetat-Copolymeren, vorzugsweise von Polyvinylacetat.The grid fabric is an open-mesh grid, the mesh of which consist of fibers. Die Herstellung der erfindungsgemäßen Frostschutzdämmung erfolgt zweckmäßigerweise dadurch, daß das Gittergewebe auf die XPS-Platte aufgelegt und mit dieser heiß verpreßt wird. Dabei werden bevorzugt Temperaturen von 80 bis 110°C, insbesondere von 90 bis 100°C und Drücke von 10 bis 30 bar, insbesondere von 15 bis 25 bar angewandt, die Preßzeit beträgt vorzugsweise 10 bis 60 sec.
