Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a bentonite or other highly swellable clay at least partially filled sealing mat with a carrier web and a cover sheet which is connected by seams with the carrier web, wherein the powdery or granular swellable clay is incorporated in an open-cell foam layer.
A.Sealing mats of this type are known from the published patent applications DE 197 38 169 A and DE 198 58 180 A.
So that the powdered or granular bentonite does not shift during transport and when laying the example 4 m wide and 30 m long mat, the swellable clay is incorporated in the mat according to the published patent application DE 197 38 169 A in an aerosol or in an open-cell foam layer, and a textile carrier web, the intermediate layer of swellable clay and a textile cover sheet are connected to each other via extending over the longitudinal direction of the sealing mat seams, which have a distance of 20 to 50 mm.
The sealing mat according to the published patent application DE 198 58 180 A is composed of a lower carrier web of ribbon fabric, a structural layer applied thereto, which is formed by a loose nonwoven layer or an open-cell foam layer or a honeycomb structure and is embedded in the swellable clay, and a cover sheet, which - like the carrier web - consists of ribbon fabric. Again, carrier web, intermediate layer and cover sheet are connected to each other via longitudinally parallel seams.
In the known sealing mats there is a risk that shrinkage cracks in the bentonite occur when after the swelling of the bentonite a longer drying period occurs and thereby the clay mineral water is removed. These shrinkage cracks can have the consequence that rinses occur in the event of sudden water ingress, as a result of which the sealing mat becomes leaking to a considerable extent.
In order to avoid such shrinkage cracks or drying cracks, DE 196 49 628 A1 has proposed to arrange a layer which decouples the water balance between two open-cell elastic foam layers containing swellable clay and consists of a nonwoven fabric or an elastic open-cell foam layer which is coated on one or both sides with a water-retaining polymer coated or filled. The capillary-breaking layer may also be an open-cell elastic foam provided with a film and / or a film on one side or on both sides. In the case of this mat composed of more than three layers, the open-pore and coated foam layer can also form the carrier web.
The object of the invention is to provide a sealing mat of the type mentioned, in which the occurrence of shrinkage cracks largely prevented and rinses such cracks are avoided, without providing two bentonite, which are separated by a decoupling the water balance layer or capillary-breaking layer.
This object is achieved in that the carrier web and the foam layer is formed by an elastic foam plastic sheet having a closed outer skin. Due to the fact that the bentonite is incorporated in the cells of the foamed plastic sheet that are open only on one side, the complete drying out of the bentonite swollen by the uptake of water is very delayed and the cell walls and the closed outer skin of the foamed plastic sheet prevent the cracking of cracks in the bentonite layer. so that erosion of the sealing mat is not to be feared.
The open-cell foam layer with the closed outer skin is preferably soft-elastic and has a leathery-tough outer skin. This foam sheet may be 3 to 10 mm thick and is sewn after filling with bentonite with a cover layer, which is preferably formed from a nonwoven fabric or a ribbon fabric. The seams which connect the carrier web with the cover web, expediently extend in the longitudinal direction and have a distance of 20 to 50 mm from each other. In order to avoid tearing of the closed outer skin of the foam plastic sheet, it is expedient, the foam layer and in particular the reinforced outer skin with short glass, mineral or plastic fibers.
Thus, the sealing mat can absorb high mechanical loads on both sides, the closed outer skin of the foam plastic sheet is reinforced by a textile reinforcement sheet, which is sewn together with the at least partially filled with bentonite foam plastic sheet with the cover sheet. The foam plastic sheet may also be glued onto a textile reinforcement sheet or otherwise connected in a planar manner before being filled with bentonite. This can be done by, for example, the foamed plastic sheet is foamed onto the Armierungsbahn and is thus intimately connected with its closed outer skin with the Armierungsbahn.
The foam plastic sheet with open-sided cells and a closed outer skin is advantageously made of a foam plastic sheet twice as thick, which has a closed outer skin on both sides and which is severed along its median plane. Experience has shown that integral or structural foams have on both sides a closed outer skin and have an open-celled core, wherein the cell diameters decrease from the middle to the edge. If this foam layer is severed in its median plane, then just the relatively large cells are completely open, so that can be filled without difficulty, the foam plastic sheet with bentonite. By shaking or kneading the foam plastic layer, the degree of filling can be increased.
