Abstract
Description
The invention is based on a device for supply an internal combustion engine with fuel according to the preamble of claim 1.
Conventional facilities for supplying a Internal combustion engine with fuel are made from one Fuel tank and one interacting with it Tank installation unit formed. The tank installation unit is for this into an opening on the lid side of the fuel tank used and protrudes with her the fuel delivery unit load-bearing end into the fuel tank. in the Interior of the fuel tank is opposite to Opening the lid side on the bottom side of a surge pot arranged. This baffle is through channels with the Fuel tank connected so that the Fuel delivery unit from the fuel surge tank can suck. The tank installation unit is supported for this the base plate of the baffle. The baffle prevents the suction side of the Fuel delivery unit from the fuel at strong Movement of the fuel tank and at the same time low Level.
Such surge pots have the disadvantage that weld them by before installing the tank installation unit or screws in the fuel tank have to. This is only for plastic fuel tanks costly to implement because it prevents barrier layers Fuel diffusion can be damaged or because of it is difficult to weld different plastics together to let. In addition, the baffles are usually so large explained that they are only in a complex and expensive blow molding process.
The inventive device for supplying a In contrast, internal combustion engine with fuel Advantage that previously fixed in the fuel tank Swirl pot now with the holding body of the tank installation unit is connected via coupling elements and as pre-assembled, Easy-to-assemble unit installed in one operation can be. This allows the fuel tank train much easier and the cost of that Save separate installation of the baffle.
Further advantages or advantageous developments of Invention result from the dependent claims or the Description.
So it is for a complete suction of the im Fuel tank of existing fuel necessary that the baffle on the bottom of the fuel tank is present. Distance fluctuations between the cover side and Bottom side of the fuel tank, as z. B. by Temperature fluctuations or manufacturing tolerances can be according to the invention by the elasticity the coupling elements balanced. These elastic and im installed condition under tension Coupling elements cause the baffle, which is no longer attached to the fuel tank, nevertheless always on the bottom of the fuel tank supports. The between the suction port of the Fuel delivery unit and the base plate of the Swirl pot existing distance is also one bridged elastic suction filter, so that the suction quantity of the fuel constant regardless of the operating state remains.
An embodiment of the invention is in the drawing shown and in the following description explained.
The single figure shows a schematic representation of an in a tank installation unit installed in the fuel tank Cut.
In the single figure, a fuel tank 10 is shown, which is delimited by a lid side 11 and a bottom side 12 . The cover side 11 has a recess 13 , in which a tank installation unit 14 is installed to deliver fuel from the fuel tank 10 to an internal combustion engine (not shown). The tank installation unit 14 is formed by a holding body 15 which carries a fuel delivery unit 16 . The one-piece holding body 15 has a cylindrical wall region 21 and is preferably made of a fuel-resistant plastic material, for example POM. At the end lying outside the fuel tank 10 , a flange plate 17 is formed on the holding body 15 . Electrical and hydraulic connections 18 , 19.1 , 19.2 protrude through the flange plate 17 on their side lying outside the fuel tank 10 . The tank installation unit 14 is contacted by these connections 18 , 19 with the power supply or with the inlet and the return of a fuel circuit of an internal combustion engine. Furthermore, the flange plate 17 forms a circumferential collar 20 with which it rests on the cover side 11 of the fuel tank 10 and closes the recess 13 tightly. At the end of the holding body 15 lying inside the fuel tank 10 , a sleeve-shaped receiving device 22 is arranged cetrically, which is connected by means of connecting webs 23 to the wall region 21 of the holding body 15 . The holding body 15 and the receiving device 22 can also be made in one piece. The receiving device 22 , which projects beyond the end of the wall area 21 , serves to receive and fix the position of the fuel delivery unit 16 . The housing of the fuel delivery unit 16 encloses an electric drive unit, not shown, which drives a pump, also not shown, with a pressure and a suction connection 24 , 25 . The electric drive unit of the pump is connected to the corresponding connections 18 on the flange plate 17 via live cables 26 . The pressure port of the pump 24 of the fuel feed 16 is coupled by means of a hose line 27 to the first hydraulic port 19.1 of the flange 17th The suction port 25 of the pump faces the bottom side 12 of the fuel tank 10 and is provided with an intake filter 28 . This suction filter 28 is formed by an elastic support frame over which a filter fabric is stretched and bridges the required distance between the suction port 25 of the pump and the base plate 35 of a surge pot 29 from which the pump sucks. The surge pot 29 has a circumferential edge 34 perpendicular to its base plate 35 . The return 19.2 of the fuel circuit of the internal combustion engine is arranged so that it opens into the surge pot 29 .
Alternatively, the opening of the swirl pot 29 facing the cover side 11 can be closed by a cover plate. Recesses are then formed in this cover plate, through which the fuel delivery unit 16 and the return 19.2 of the fuel circuit project into the swirl pot 29 .
The task of a surge pot 29 is to prevent the suction connection 25 of the fuel delivery unit 16 from the stored fuel when the fuel tank 10 is moving strongly and at the same time when the fill level is low, as a result of which the fuel supply to the internal combustion engine would be briefly stopped.
The swirl pot 29 is filled via bores 30 arranged above the base plate 35 , which connect the interior of the swirl pot 29 to that of the fuel tank 10 . Likewise, the swirl pot 29 can be filled by a regulated or an unregulated suction jet pump.
The swirl pot 29 , which is arranged at the same axis as the holding body 15 , corresponds substantially in diameter to that of the holding body 15 . The holding body 15 and the baffle 29 are connected to one another by elastic spring straps 32 , so that the baffle 29 is movable relative to the holding body 15 installed in the fuel tank in a stationary manner. For this purpose, the spring strips 32 run parallel to the longitudinal axis 36 of the tank installation unit 14 and each have a kink 33 directed towards the longitudinal axis 36 . The spring straps 32 can thereby be preloaded in the installed state of the tank installation unit 14 and have the effect that the baffle 29 is always supported on the bottom side 12 of the fuel tank 10 . Instead of the spring bands 32 , coil springs can also be used.
Fluctuations in the height of the fuel tank 10 due to z. B. manufacturing tolerances or heat effects can thus be compensated.
Of course, changes to the described are Embodiment possible without the thought of Deviate invention notification.
Thus an externally pre-assembled unit is for example conceivable, where the surge chamber is rigidly connected 29 to the receiving device 22, the spring strips 32, however, the fuel tank 10, above the connection point of the receiving device 22, are arranged on the holder body 15 in the direction of the lid side. 11 This would avoid the possible relative movement between the fuel delivery unit 16 and swirl pot 29 .
