Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for steam sterilization a rinsed container, in particular a KEG barrel for beer or the like, before filling a beverage, the container having a fitting on the bottom of the container one inserted into a bung hole in the bottom of the container Fitting housing, a riser pipe, a steam valve on the Bottom of the riser and a liquid valve in one delimited by the riser pipe and the housing Gap has, with water vapor through the riser is introduced into the container and after the expiration a predetermined treatment time the steam expelled and condensate is drained from the container.
When filling containers, barrels and other drinks The containers to be filled are ren containers cleaned, the cleaning finally a hot wash rinsing includes. With sterile compressed air or steam then push the water out of the container. It the interior of the container is sterilized with steam. After a specified treatment time, the Steam expelled and accumulated in the container Condensate drained. When bottling beer, the Prestressed container with CO₂ and then filled. The The container is filled overhead, as in DE-C 36 00 301 described. Even during the previous one The container is in one treatment Overhead position.
There are malfunctions during cleaning and hot water rinsing, there is a risk that chemical residues remain in the container to be filled and in it bottled drink. Except for a healthy one Uniform risk from chemical residues can for example alkaline residues in beer a flocculation cause.
The invention has for its object that to further develop the described method so that a Contamination of the beverage filled in the container chemical residues from previous treatments closed is.
To achieve this object, the invention teaches that during the steam sterilization condensate formed by the opened liquid valve into the condensate collection chamber a treatment head connected to the valve is conducted and collected and that the purity of the in the Condensate collection chamber measured condensate as well an interference signal is emitted if the measured value is outside a predetermined tolerance range. The invention is based on the knowledge that any chemical residues in the Condensate, which arises during steam sterilization, can be easily and safely detected. That has meh other reasons. The steam introduced into the container is charged hits the entire inside surface of the container and condenses on the cool wall surfaces. The condensate wets the inner surface of the container and runs against the Container walls, with any adhering chemicals lienreste be washed away. Chemical residues can be found thereby largely completely in the condensate again, whereby the dilution behaves when the amount of condensate is produced is reasonably small. Because of the low dilution disruptive chemical residues can be reliably demonstrated. It it is understood that the interference signal in an automatic working filling system can also be used to to discharge the container in question and / or the Stop bottling line.
The condensate can be measured during the steam steri lization are already carried out, so that with the Kon Densate measurement no delay in beverage filling connected is. As a measuring method for condensate measurement known methods can be used. The is preferred Carrying out a pH measurement in the condensate collection chamber.
Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ferner eine Vorrichtung zur Durchführung des beschriebenen Verfahrens mit einer behäl terbodenseitigen Armatur und einem an die Armatur an schließbaren Behandlungskopf, wobeiThe invention further relates to a device for Carrying out the described method with a container fitting on the floor and one on the fitting closable treatment head, being

the treatment head has a condensate collecting chamber adjoining the gap space of the fitting and a measuring device installed in the condensate collecting chamber for checking the purity of the condensate accumulating, preferably a pH measuring device.
In a further embodiment, the invention teaches that the Treatment head is a housing flanged to the valve has in which a connected to the riser and with a flow channel for the steam supply formed plunger is guided so that the housing one pot for fluid intake and one on the pot subsequent drain hole contains and that to the drain hole an extension pipe with shut-off on the outlet side valve is connected, the measuring device in the Extension tube is inserted. The measuring device is not exposed to the high temperatures on and prevail in the housing of the treatment head and is light accessible. Cools in the exposed extension tube the condensate slightly off, which is advantageous for one Conductivity and / or pH measurement is.

The device shown is used for steam sterilization of a rinsed KEG barrel before filling beer. The barrel 1 is held overhead between jaws 2 . The basic structure of the device includes a fitting 3 on the container bottom and a treatment head 4 that can be connected to the fitting 3 . The fitting 3 comprises a fitting housing 6 inserted into the bung hole 5 of the container bottom, a riser pipe 7 projecting into the barrel 1 , a steam valve 8 on the underside of the riser pipe 7 and a liquid valve 9 in a gap space delimited by the riser pipe 7 and the fitting housing 6 . The treatment head 4 has a housing 10 flanged to the fitting 3 and a plunger 11 connected to the riser pipe 7 , which is displaceably guided in the housing 10 and contains a flow channel 12 for the supply of steam. The plunger 11 connected to the riser pipe 7 opens the steam valve 8 and enables the liquid valve 9 to be opened and closed by a lifting movement.
The housing 10 of the treatment head 4 contains a pot 13 for absorbing liquid and a drain hole 14 adjoining the pot 13 , to which an extension pipe 15 with a shut-off valve 16 on the outlet side is connected. A pH measuring device 17 is inserted into the extension tube 15 at a short distance before the shut-off valve 16 .
