Üblicherweise haben bei der erfindungsgemäßen Tischdecke die Garne einen Durchmesser von ca. 0,2 bis 1 mm und die Fasern, aus denen die Garne bestehen, einen Durchmesser von ca, 10-bis 100/u. Nach einer weiteren Lehre der Erfindung wird als Kunststoff Polyäthylen verwendet0 Jedenfalls empfiehlt es sich, die Ränder der Tischdecke durch Verschweissen, vorzugsweise im Wärmeimpulsverfahren, zu verfestigen, so daß eine Verkonfektbnierung möglich ist, ohne daß die Schnittstellen mit einem Saum zu versehen wären.
