It is known to flock fabrics or fleeces that have a smooth, openwork or closed surface by means of an adhesive su. It is also known that such flocked surfaces have the disadvantage that they become impermeable to air because the adhesive is painted or sprayed applied, forms an air-impermeable film after drying, in which the flock ends are anchored. Such Air-impermeable or hardly air-permeable lengths of fabric are difficult to clean with home textiles with the vacuum cleaners available on the market. In the case of upholstery fabrics, the impermeability to air leads to unpleasant side effects. Assisted this was countered by the fact that the lengths of fabric after the. Flocking was carried out over needle orphans of a special kind in order to make the sub-fabric porous again and thus a little air-permeable again. However, this method has been used in practice not being able to go through with it because the subsequent change to the subsurface did not have a lasting effect.
The subject of this application is now that a web of material with a heavily roughened or plush-like surface according to the innovation is flocked in such a way that the air permeability is largely retained during manufacture by the fact that the adhesive is applied takes place in such a way that only the plush-like fibers or fiber ends are wetted with a suitable adhesive and then flocked. According to the innovation, another advantage is that that the material web absolutely retains its original stretch elasticity, so that a later processing of the material web on encounters no difficulties whatsoever.
