Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 9. Dezember 1906 ab.
Substanzen, die auf niedriger Temperatur gehalten werden sollen, z.B. flüssige Luft, schützt man vor der schädlichen Einwirkung der atmosphärischen Wärme, indem man sie in doppelwandige (sog. Weinholdsche oder Dewarsche) Gefäße bringt, deren Zwischenraum luftleer gemacht ist. '
Das Luftleerpumpen derartiger Gefäße ist eine langwierige und kostspielige Arbeit.
ίο Nach dem vorliegenden Verfahren lassen sich doppeljvandige Gefäße von derselben Wirksamkeit leicht und billig herstellen, wenn man den Mantelraum mit einem leicht kondensierbaren Gase, z. B. Schwefeldioxyd, füllt.
Sobald flüssige Luft o. dgl. in das Gefäß eingefüllt wird, kondensiert sich das im Mantelraum befindliche Gas am Innenteil und es entsteht ein wärmeisolierendes Vakuum.
Die Gefäße haben außer der viel leichteren Fabrikation noch den Vorteil, daß im Mantelraum bei Nichtgebrauch Atmosphärendruck herrscht, so daß etwa vorhandene kleine Undichtigkeiten weniger schädlich wirken, als wenn der Mantelraum evakuiert ist.

Claims (1)

  1. Patent-An Spruch:
    Verfahren zur Erhaltung der Eigentemperatur von Stoffen aller Art, z. B. zur Aufbewahrung von flüssiger Luft mittels eines doppelwandigen, wärmeisolierenden Gefäßes, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Mantelrauni des Gefäßes mit einem solchen Gase angefüllt wird, welches sich beim Gebrauch bis zur Bildung eines wärmeisolierenden Vakuums kondensiert.
