Description
There are already known composite materials used as floor coverings, those made of a jute felt as the lower layer, a needled jute fabric as the middle layer and a plastic coating as the top layer. The composite materials However, this type have the disadvantage that the coating paste during the coating process impacts relatively deeply into the jute fabric and the felt, causing the material easily becomes hard and boardy. In addition, you have to use an unnecessarily large amount of coating in this way apply, which naturally makes the production of the material more expensive. Task of the present The invention is to eliminate the disadvantages mentioned and thereby to a composite material to come that not only has better performance properties, but also is more economical to manufacture. The solution to the task at hand in one process for the production of a multi-layer composite material by needle-punching a middle layer on an underlayer of felt and then coating the middle layer with plastic for the production of a top layer consists according to the invention, that the middle layer is a combination of jute warp threads and a plastic film or a crepe paper web. By this measure, on the one hand, that becomes Avoid deep impact of the coating paste in the course of the manufacturing process. On the other hand, there is the advantage that the jute threads in the warp direction are sufficient Provide tensile strength in the production, but one saves the weft threads, whereby a further reduction in manufacturing costs is achieved. This is an additional one economic advantage.
For the purposes of the invention, all conventional plastic films be used. Films made of polyethylene or plasticized sheets are particularly suitable Polyvinyl chloride. The thickness of these foils can be made relatively small and for example on the order of about 0.06 mm. Using of polyethylene foils during the production of the composite material, d. H. when the coating paste gels, to a melting point or melting come the slide. However, this does not bring any quality disadvantage, since that is what is sought The aim of preventing the coating from sinking too deeply into the felt was achieved in full will. As is generally the case, the plastic coating is worn in several coats of paste, the existing base coat then acts as a Barrier layer for further paste applications.
If a crepe paper is used instead of a plastic film, then thicker papers of this type are generally preferred. It can to to give an example, crepe papers weighing on the order of about 150 g / m2 can be used.
The number of glued on the plastic film or crepe paper or otherwise fastened jute warp threads depend on the requirements of the individual case. It has been shown that particularly good results are achieved if on 10 cm width of the film or paper 15 to 35, preferably 25 to 30, warp threads are coming.
The new procedure is usually carried out in such a way that that you first have either the plastic film provided with jute warp threads or crepe paper web needled onto the felt or, during the needling process, the jute warp threads loosely on the felt hang up, cover them with the foil or crepe paper and then by needling fixed. This prepared material is then processed in several steps the coating applied as a paste layer. After completion it forms the Upper layer of the new composite material.
The topsheet of that made according to the method of the invention Composite material for which the coating material is generally polyvinyl chloride comes into consideration, can still be subjected to a final refinement. For example, the coating can be deeply embossed in a manner known per se, with the possibility of painting inlet paste into the depressions. On that If necessary, a transparent top layer can also be applied, which again can be embossed.
The composite material produced by the new process is suitable especially for floor coverings. However, it can also be used to advantage for other purposes where composite materials are required, such as wall cladding.
