Description
There are already known composite materials used as floor coverings, which consist of a jute felt as the lower layer, a needled jute fabric as the middle layer and a plastic coating as the upper layer. The composite materials of this type, however, have the disadvantage that the coating paste penetrates relatively deeply into the jute fabric and the felt during the coating process, as a result of which the material becomes easily hard and sticky. In addition, you have to apply an unnecessarily large amount of coating in this way, which naturally makes the production of the material more expensive. The object of the present innovation is to eliminate the disadvantages mentioned and thereby to come to a composite material web that does not only have has better usage properties, but is also more economical to manufacture. To solve the problem, the innovation is based on a composite material web with a jute felt as the bottom layer and a plastic coating as the top layer and, according to the invention, provides that the middle layer consists of a plastic film or crepe paper web with jute warp threads glued to it or otherwise attached. This special design, ie the film or crepe paper layer provided with jute warp threads, prevents the coating paste from wrapping too deeply in the course of the manufacturing process. On the other hand, there is the advantage that the jute threads in the warp direction ensure sufficient tensile strength during manufacture, but the weft threads are saved, which further reduces the manufacturing costs. This is an additional economic benefit.
Die Dicke dieser Folien kann verhältnismäßig gering bemessen werden und beispielsweise in der Größenordnung von etwaFor the purposes of the innovation, all conventional plastic films can be used. Films made of polyethylene or plasticized polyvinyl chloride are particularly suitable. The thickness of these foils can be made relatively small and, for example, of the order of magnitude
0,06 mm liegen. If polyethylene foils are used, the foil may begin to melt or melt in the course of the production of the composite material web, i.e. when the coating paste gels. However, this does not result in any quality disadvantage, since the desired aim of preventing the coating from sinking too deeply into the felt is fully achieved. If, as is generally customary, the plastic coating is applied in several coats of paste, the existing base coating then acts as a barrier layer for further paste applications.
If crepe paper is used instead of a plastic film, stronger papers of this type will generally be preferred. For example, crepe papers weighing on the order of about 150 g / m2 can be used.
Es hat sich gezeigt, dass besonders gute Ergebnisse erzielt werden, wenn auf 10 cm Breite der Folie bzw. desThe number of jute warp threads glued to the plastic film or crepe paper or fastened in some other way depends on the requirements of the individual case. It has been shown that particularly good results are achieved if the film or the film is 10 cm wide
Papieres 20 bis 40 und vorzugsweise 25 bis 30 Kettfäden kommen.Paper 20 to 40 and preferably 25 to 30 warp threads come.
The new composite material web is usually produced in such a way that either the plastic film or crepe paper web with jute warp threads is first needled onto the felt or, during the needling process, the jute warp threads are loosely placed on the felt, covered with the film or crepe paper and then by needling fixed. The coating is then applied as a paste layer to this material, which has been prepared in this way. After completion, it forms the top layer of the new composite material web.
According to the innovation, the top layer, for which polyvinyl chloride is generally considered as material, can also be subjected to a subsequent refinement. For example, the coating can be deeply embossed in a manner known per se, it being possible to apply inlet paste into the depressions. A transparent cover layer can optionally be applied to this, which can be embossed again.
The new composite material web is particularly suitable for floor coverings. However, it can also be used with advantage for other purposes in which composite materials are required, for example for wall cladding.
The innovation is illustrated in more detail using the attached models.
