Description
KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
Zugleich ist eine Einrichtung getroffen, 'durch welche den Schraubenflügeln während ihres Umlaufes eine Drehung um ihre Längsachse in solchem Sinne erteilt wird, daß die abwärts gehenden FlügelThe subject of the present invention is a screw pilot device for Watercraft and aircraft with the wings descending opposite the other Wings are given an advance so that their acting on the vehicle lifting Force is designed to be greater than the oppositely directed pressure of the upward pressure Wing, which the vehicle tries to pull down. At the same time is a facility hit, 'through which the propeller blades during their revolution a Rotation about its longitudinal axis is granted in such a way that the wing descends
!5 sich mit größerer Steigung durch das Wasser bewegen als die anderen Flügel, um auf diese Weise die hebende Wirkung der abwärts gehenden Flügel zu unterstützen.! 5 through the water at a steep incline move as the other wing, this way to get the lifting effect of the downward support walking wing.
Fig. 2 und 3 zeigen Details hierzu. Fig. 6 zeigt hierzu ein LängsachseThe invention is illustrated in two embodiments on the accompanying drawing. Fig. Ι shows a vertical section through a propeller drive device, in which only one advance of the downward moving wings, but not one Rotation takes place around its own longitudinal axis. Fig. 2 and 3 show details of this. Fig. 4 shows a second embodiment of the invention in longitudinal section, in which the Propeller blades apart from the advance in the downward movement still rotate around theirs own longitudinal axis can be granted. Fig. 5 shows in cross section the device for this purpose, by which the advance of the downward moving wings and the rotation about their longitudinal axis is effected. 6 shows a longitudinal axis for this purpose
Gear on the inner wing tip; which can be rotated by means of a slidably mounted rack to increase the pitch of the wing when going down. Fig. 7 shows in cross section the means by which the displacement of the blades to rotate about their
serving racks (is effected.
While otherwise the propeller blades are attached to a hub directly set in rotation by the propeller shaft, their drive takes place in the present invention by means of a housing 11, which is mounted in a fixed part 3 on the vehicle and by a conical toothing 12 with a conical Gear 12 'is engaged, which is driven by a shaft B from the main engine.
Die Lagerung der Welle 15 findet in einem zapfenartigen,In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 3, the propeller blades 5 sit firmly on axes 6, which are stored in the housing 11 parallel to its axis of rotation, and about which the blades oscillate when they advance during the downward movement. In order to enable the wings to swing, recesses of sufficient size are provided in the wall of the housing 11, or the axes 6 can also be rotatably mounted directly in the walls of the housing 11. For the purpose of swinging the wings 5 are attached to the. Axes 6 arms 13 attached to that with slits 15 s the bent part 15 'of a part 3 mounted in the shaft 15 comprise (Fig. 2). The storage of the shaft 15 takes place in a pin-like,
in der Steigung gemacht wird.at the same time serving to guide the housing 11 approach 16 of the part 3 instead, and expediently eccentric to the axis 'of the housing 11, in which case the radius of the crank is taken just so large that the cranked part 15' is not only eccentric, but also can be set centrally to the axis of rotation of the housing 11. If the cranked part 15 'of the shaft is set eccentrically to the axis of rotation of the housing 11, it can be seen that on the side towards which the eccentricity of the crank is directed, the wings concerned must lead over the other wings. If the eccentricity is directed towards the side on which the propeller blades go down, they move faster here than on the other side and thus act on the vehicle to be lifted. If the cranked part 15 'is set so that it is centered on the axis of rotation of the housing 11, the blades will of course not lead at any point, and the propeller then acts exactly like any other conventional screw propeller. As can be seen from FIGS. 2 and 3, 3 sliding pieces 15 2 can be arranged in the slots 15, in which the cranked shaft part 15 'is mounted.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 4 to 6 a device is provided by which the propeller blades can be given not only an advance in the same way as in the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 3, but at the same time a rotation about their own longitudinal axis. If this turning of the wings takes place in such a way that their pitch on the side on which they move downwards is greater than on the opposite side, it can be seen that their lifting effect caused by the advance is the greater, the more greater the change in slope is made.
In order to be able to cause the propeller blades to rotate around their own longitudinal axis their sleeve-shaped feet 9, in which the wings are fastened by means of pins 8 can, rotatably mounted on pins 7, which are fixedly arranged on the same axes 6, as in the embodiment according to FIGS.
Dadurch, 'daß die Drehachse 18 der Scheibe 17 in der längsverschiebbaren Scheibe 22 gelagert ist, die neben der Führung mittels Keilen 61 auf dem Ansatz 16 auch noch in einem ringförmigen Vorsprung 23 des Teiles 3 geführt wird, erhält man den Vorteil, daß die Steigung der Propellerflügel überhaupt variiert werden kann; denn sobald durch Verschiebung der ,Scheiben 22 sämtliche Zahnstangen 12 mit verschoben werfen, erfolgt natürlichThe axes 6 are also here within a housing 11 to be driven by the main machine, and the rotation of the same for the purpose of producing the advance of the blades is also carried out, as in the embodiment according to FIGS Wave 15, which is from wave 2. ' can be set in rotation and adjusted by a worm gear transmission 15 ", 33. At the feet 9 of the vanes, gears 10 are provided, with which they are embedded in the axles 6 in such a way that there is also space for gear racks 14 within the circular cross-section of the axles, This displacement of the toothed racks is effected by means of a disk 17 which freely surrounds the pin-like projection 16 of the part 3 in which the shaft 15 is mounted with such a clearance that it is inclined can be adjusted to the axis of the projection 6. On its circumference, the disk 17 is provided with a groove running all around, into which the rods 14 engage with hook-shaped bent ends 14 'so that they move around the housing 11 together with the axes 6 Groove of the stationary disk 17. If the disk 17 is thus set at an angle, it can be seen that when rotating the axis en 6 throw the racks 14 back and forth while turning the propeller blades by an amount corresponding to the inclination of the disc 17, so that they go through the water on one side with a greater slope than on the opposite side. The setting of the disc 17 is now effected so that the wings, to achieve the intended purpose of increasing the force lifting the vehicle as much as possible, go through the water on the side with the greater slope on which they move downwards. In order to rotate the disk 17, it is fastened to an axle 18 which is rotatably supported in lugs 21 of a longitudinally displaceable disk 22 guided on the pin-like projection 16 by means of a wedge 61. Worm wheels 19 are attached to the ends of the axle 18 and can be set in rotation by means of worm shafts 20 for the purpose of inclining the disk 17. The worm shafts 20 receive their drive from small gear wheels 20 'which are in engagement with a gear wheel 24 which is rotatably arranged on a shoulder 24' of the disk 22. The gear 24 is driven by a gear transmission 26, 27, 28. By rotating the conical gear 28 by means of a shaft 2 ′ ″, the slanting position of the disk 17 can be brought about as soon as a turning of the propeller blades about their own longitudinal axis is desired is mounted, which in addition to the guide by means of wedges 61 on the extension 16 is also guided in an annular projection 23 of the part 3, one obtains the advantage that the pitch of the propeller blades can be varied at all; because as soon as the, disks 22 throw all racks 12 with shifted, takes place of course
To make the longitudinal displacement of the disk 22 too can, it is carried by screw spindles 29, which are rotatably mounted in the part 3 are, and their threads cause the shift when turning. The spindles 29 are rotated by small gears 29 ', which at the same time of a rotatably mounted on an approach of the part 3 gear 30 get their drive. This gear 30 is provided with a conical toothing 30 ', in which a conical gear 32 attached to a shaft 2 "engages, so that by rotating the shaft 2 ″, the longitudinal displacement of the disk 22 can be effected.
The waves 2 ', 2 "and 2!" can be arranged concentrically one inside the other, as shown in FIG. 4, for the sake of simplicity.
