Die Neuerung betrifft eine Kantenverbindung für Glasplatten von Glastheken, vorzugsweise zur Verwendung in Textilgeschäften. Die Kantenverbindung von Glasplatten und zwar in der Regel der Frontsichtscheibe und der oberen Abdeckscheibe Ton Glasschautheken, vorzugsweise von Textilgeschulten, bestand bisher im allgemeinen aus einer profilierten Holzleiste, die auf die obere Kante der senkrecht aufgestellten frontsichtscheibe aufgesetzt wurde mit einer Auflagefläche und vorderen AbsohluBkante zum Einlegen einer oberen Abschlußglasplatte. Die seitenverbindung solcher Glasschautheken besteht dabei in der Begel aus Holz, ebenso die übrigen Teile einer solchen Theke. Die profilierte Holzleiste wurde dabei mit den Seitenwänden verzapft, oder verschraubt, oder verleimt, oder auf irgendeine andere Weise befestigt. Diese Holzleisten hatten z. T. eine freie Länge von 2 a und mehr zu überbrücken und es ist selbstverständlich, daß sie entweder verhältnismäßig grob ausgeführt werden mußten, us ihren Zweck überhaupt erfüllen zu können, oder bei feiner Ausführung, was in Textilgeschäften besonders erwünscht ist, besondere Schwierigkeiten bereiteten, um auf die Gebrauchslage astfreies Holz zu erhalten, da bei dieser Peinausfuhrung die geringste Schwächung leicht zu Brach der leiste fuhren kann. Darüber hinaus hat Kolz zu sein,/ nun einmal die Eigenschaft organischen Ursprungs/um daher außerordentlich stark von Witterungseinflüssen abhängig zu sein. Es verzieht sich, sodaß sich Fugen bilden können, die das Aussehen gerade der vorderen Kante einer Glaoschaatheke nachteilig beeinflussen. Die Holzkanten für solche Glasschautheken bestehen auf ihrer äußeren Seite meist aus Furnierflächen feinsten polierten Edelholzes. Dabei sind gerade diese Kanten besonders stark der Abnutzung unterworfen und verlieren bald an Ansehen, wodurch das Aussehen der gesamten Theke stark beeinträchtigt wird. Um diese Mängel auszugleichen, hat man versucht, die Glasplatten mit Hilfe einer Filzzwischenlage oder mit, Hilfe eines besonderen Klebemittels einfach lose aufeinander aufzusetzen. Dadurch verliert aber eine solche Glassohautheke erheblich an Stabilität, was sich sehr bemerkbar macht, wenn solche theke mal verschoben werden müssen. Auch ist die Sicherheit solcher Kantenverbindungen von Glassohautheken verhältnismäßig gering, da es bekanntlich einen Anreiz bildet, besonders für Kinder, zu versuchen, die obere Glasplatte anzuheben, wodurch die Glasplatten gegeneinander verschoben werden können, was leicht zu Beschädigungen führen kann. Das Aufkleben der Glasplatten aufeinander führt bei bestem Klebstoff u. U. dazu, daß die Spannungen innerhalb der Glasplatten durch die Verleimung sich nicht ausgleichen können, die d ch Temperatureinflüsse hervorgerufen werden können, sodaß die Glasplatten u. Der Holzleiste gegenüber kann diese metalli- sche Profilleiste derartig zierlich ausgeführt werden, daß sie augenfällig das in den Schaukasten gerichtete Sichtfeld des Beschauers bedeutend weniger, fast völlig verschwindend, behindert, als es die Holzleiste bisher getan hat. Gegenüber der Holzleiste ergibt sich noch der Vorteil, daß eine oberflächenveredelte Metalleiste weit weniger, bei manchen Oberflächenvergütungen überhaupt nicht einem Abgriff unterliegt. Die Lasohenverbindung der Profilleiste mit den Seitenwänden ist durch die Verschraubungen außerordentlich stabil und, da zweckmäßig die Laschen in das Holz eingelassen werden für den Beschauer nicht sichtbar. Da es sich bei dem Werkstoff dieser Profilleiste um einen dem Holz unterschiedlichen Werk- stoff handelt ist es möglich, ohne daß es den Beschauer stören würde, diese andersfarbig zu halten als das Sols, wodurch außer den erwähnten Vorteilen geschmacklich mancher wirkungs- volle Effekt erzielt werden kann. ; Auf der Zeichnung ist der Neuerungsgegenstand beispiels- weise dargestellt.
