Der Regulator besteht aus dem beiderseits mit Deckeln versehenen Gufseisengehäuse A; zwischen die Deckel und den cylindrischen Theil des Gehäuses sind zwei Ledermembranen B gespannt. Mit diesen Membranen stehen die Zugstangen C in Verbindung, welche andererseits mit dem Winkelhebel D durch Scharniere zusammenhängen. Die Drehungsaxe H dieser Hebel ist bei JJ gelagert. Das Ventil F endlich steht durch die Schienen E mit dem Hebel D in Verbindung. Nach rückwärts wirkt die in einer Büchse gelagerte Feder G durch den Stift m und die Schienen L auf die Hebel D. Die Spannung der Feder G erfolgt durch die Mutter N. Tritt durch das Rohr O comprimirtes Gas ein, so lüftet dieses das Ventil F; das Gas tritt in das Gehäuse A und wirkt derart auf die Membranen B, dafs diese durch Vermittelung der Zugstangen C und Hebel D mit Schienen E das Ventil zu schliefsen bestrebt sind. Dabei wirken die Verbindungstheile zwischen Membranen und Ventil derartig, dafs sich ihre Gewichte gegenseitig aufheben. Der Druck des durch Rohr O1 nach den Flammen entweichenden Gases wird daher allein durch die Feder G regulirt.The regulator consists of the cast iron housing A with lids on both sides; Two leather membranes B are stretched between the lid and the cylindrical part of the case. If compressed gas enters through the pipe O, this ventilates the valve F; the gas enters the housing A and acts on the membranes B in such a way that they try to close the valve by means of the tie rods C and lever D with rails E. The connecting parts between the membrane and the valve act in such a way that their weights cancel each other out. The pressure of the gas escaping through tube O 1 to the flames is therefore regulated solely by the spring G.
