Description
AS 1 249 322).a defined number of idle characters created an additional criterion for error detection. The number of idle characters received is checked in the ARQ receiver and one if there is a discrepancy Correction carried out (DT-AS 1 249 322).
This process has the disadvantage that the technical effort is not insignificant. There are next to that On the ARQ receiving side, the required character memory also has complicated facilities for synchronization of the space character blocks are required. On the ARQ transmission side, the Sending the space characters its own extensive circuit can be used.
The object of the invention is to show a method that in ARQ systems, the falsification of text rs almost completely eliminated in spaces and vice versa.
This object is achieved by the features specified in claim 1.
Compared to the proposed method, the new method has block-by-block transmission of spaces requires a particularly low technical effort. The ARQ transmitter remains complete unaffected, so that only an additional input for the repeat request in the ARQ receiver is required when a change in the operating status is detected. Another benefit of the The method shown lies in the automatic correction of a forged one in a space character Text character or a space character falsified into a text character.
The process makes the corruption of text into space characters and vice versa almost completely eliminated if a repetition process is carried out as a precaution every time the operating status is changed is initiated. A change in the operating status is recognized in the ARQ receiver with the help of a so-called operating state memory. So that every time you change text in spaces and vice versa dissolve the repetition processes initiated as a result, this operating state memory must depending on the position of the acknowledgment Λζ) in the repetition cycle of the ARQ receiver, can also be controlled. To distinguish between a wanted one and an undesired change in the operating status, successive repetition cycles, initiated by this change are counted. Depending on the position of the counter, additional Retry requests can be blocked or released.
Details of the invention are based on an advantageous embodiment shown in the figures is shown, explained.

In the known ARQ system, a query is initiated if a step group other than the permitted one is received (code or parity error) or if a certain distortion value is exceeded. The inquiry is initiated by a signal RQ (request signal) sent to the remote station. This character prevents further retrieval of the message by the subscriber and at the same time causes a renewed transmission of the characters sent last, including the character that was disturbed. This retransmission is initiated by a signal RQ (request signal).
The basic idea behind the new procedure is to initiate a repetition process for every change the operating status in the ARQ device. So not only does every falsification of text lead to space characters and vice versa, but also any switching from the unoccupied one intended by a subscriber or occupied state to the state »text transmission« and vice versa to a repetition. This is but not a hindrance, since the operating mode switchovers in general only take place at the beginning and end of a message broadcast and thus the efficiency of the message flow, based on the Number of repetitions, only imperceptibly influenced. The switchover of the Permanent disconnection to the status »text transmission« and vice versa in the case of non-retrievable operation from the telex subscriber.
In this operating mode, a retrievable buffer memory ZS is interposed between the teletype subscriber FT and the ARQ system. The characters are retrieved from the buffer memory by triggering pulses that are delivered via line 1. However, the speed at which the telex characters enter the buffer memory is generally slower than that at which the characters are interrogated by the ARQ device in the event of undisturbed transmission. In this way, pauses (^ characters) often arise between the continuously retrieved text characters until a new character is available in the buffer memory. Due to the method of repetition initiation when switching from text to idle characters and vice versa, however, the query from this retrievable buffer memory is blocked with every change of operation, so that some new characters get into the memory during this time. The result is that the number of pause states on the transmission path decreases. The efficiency of the message flow is not influenced in the case of undisturbed transmission, since, viewed over a longer period of time, only the transmission of idle characters is replaced by repetition processes.
The recognition of an idle character within a continuous text transmission or of a text character during the ß or character transmission takes place in the ARQ receiver with the aid of a so-called operating state memory BS. This element, which is shown in FIG. 2 is shown as a flip-flop, stores the operating state for one character length. If idle characters (α + β) are received, the operating state memory is in one position, ie a voltage is output at output I. In the case of text characters, the operating status memory is in the other position, with a voltage now occurring at output II. The gates Gi and Gl are each supplied with a preparatory voltage, namely when idle characters (α + β) occur at the terminal LZ a voltage, while with text characters at the terminals TX a voltage. The position of the memory BS is compared with the voltages in the gates G3 and GA which arise at the output of the gates Gi and Gl , so that with every change in the operating state at the output
des Gatters G5 eine Spannung erscheint, die, wenn das Gatter G6 von der Zähleinrichtung VVZ eine Spannung erhält und damit vorbereitet ist, am Ausgang A eine Wiederholungsanforderung auslöst.of the gate G5 a voltage appears which, when the gate G6 receives a voltage from the counter VVZ and is thus prepared, triggers a repeat request at the output A.
It should also be noted in which distribution cycle of a repetition cycle the acknowledgment /? Q signal falls. In the case of a four-repetition cycle, the acknowledgment Λζ) can fall in short-circuit operation in the third quarter or in normal operation in the fourth quarter of the repetition cycle. For the first case, the storage pulse at the terminals LZ or TX for the operating state memory BS must also be blocked after the receipt of the acknowledgment AQ symbol until the end of the repetition cycle. Without this measure, the repetitions initiated would no longer be resolved when switching from text to blank characters and vice versa. This is avoided by a blocking circuit SB for the operating state memory BS. At the input Q of the blocking circuit SB, which is designed as a bistable flip-flop, is the received acknowledgment (? - character that controls the flip-flop in the state I, so that the gates GX and G2 are blocked without preparation voltage and thus SB lays only in the position II to when Verteilerumläufe take place outside of repetitions. if this is the case, a voltage, whereby the flip-flop toggles into position II appears at the input V, so that the gate G \ and G2 again with a preparation voltage are provided.
Another sequence of characters that has to be observed is that individual real busy or pause states (jS characters) result within a text sequence, as already mentioned for subscribers without directly accessible operation. Since the jS character received undisturbed is sent again from the transmission memory of the ARQ device, the repetition processes would no longer be resolved. For this reason, one or more successive repetition requests that occur due to a change in the operating state are counted and then suppressed by this counting device. This is done by the counting device ( WZ) for the repetition cycles, which blocks gate G6 when a certain count is reached and thus prevents a repetition request. The counting device WZ only counts repetition requests that follow one another.
When using key devices via ARQ links, corruption of the request signal (RQ) required by the repetition in a text combination also leads to a loss of the key phase. This falsification can be additionally protected by multiple transmission of /? Q signals.
