Gegenstand der Erfindung ist eine Sicherheitsvorrichtung an Fahrrädern, durch welche in schon bekannter Weise das vordere Rad unlenkbar gemacht wird.The invention relates to a safety device on bicycles, through which the front wheel is made unsteerable in a known manner.
Die neue Vorrichtung unterscheidet sich hauptsächlich von den bekannten, demselben Zwecke dienenden Vorrichtungen dadurch, daß die Feststellung des Steuerrohres s selbsttätig durch eine federnde Klinke k erfolgt, solange diese nicht durch einen mit Schraubengewinde versehenen Schlüssel b entgegen der Federwirkung gehoben wird. Sobald der Schlüssel abgeschraubt ist, drückt die Klinke gegen das Steuerrohr und fällt bei einer entsprechenden Drehung desselben in eine in diesem angebrachte Aussparung α ein. Letzlere ist so angeordnet, daß sich, wenn die Klinke eingefallen ist, die Vorderradachse in schräger Stellung befindet, so daß ein Geradeausfahren mit dem Rade nicht möglich ist. Der Schraubenbolzen c an der bügelartig oder anders gestalteten Klinke k ist so kurz gestaltet, daß er sich, besonders wenn das Steuerrohr festgestellt ist, im Innern des Schloßgehäuses h befindet. Das Lösen der Sicherung ist nur mit einem Schlüssel möglich, welcher in die Öffnung des Schloßgehäuses, das an dem Gestellrohr r sitzt, eingeführt werden kann, sich mit einem Ansätze d auf dasselbe stützt und mit dem bestimmten Gewinde versehen ist.
