Description
KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
K PATENTAMT.K PATENT OFFICE.
Hierauf beruhen die Verfahren der britischen Patentschrift 2327 vom Jahre 1865 und des D. R. P. 6887.The subject of the present invention is a process for dyeing wool by means of aniline black, a dye that has so far only been successful in processing of cotton has been applied. The wool became according to what has become known so far Process before the actual coloring of a pretreatment -with chlorinated lime and Subjected to hydrochloric acid. The methods of British patent specification 2327 of 1865 and D. R. P. 6887.
This well-known pretreatment of wool has the disadvantage of energetic Treatment of the wool with chlorinated lime has a significant effect on the fiber and especially its Ability to walk without guaranteeing a smooth color.
Other known oxidizing agents mentioned in the cited patents could do not result in anything more favorable with the method used. The course of the real Dyeing is also cumbersome and unsuitable for technology, it is necessary according to the cited British patent specification of imposing the wool in the oxidation room for several days, according to the above German patent specification a dampening of the wool for color development.
The detailed investigations of the inventor on this subject have shown that on appreciating the chemical and physical properties of the animal Fiber on this aniline black in a perfectly practical, usable and workable form generate.
Not the reducing properties of wool alone, but also its ability to absorb acids to absorb and chemically bind, resist the smooth production of oxidation black.
The neutralization of the wool in conjunction with an oxidation conducted in such a way that the Character of the fiber is retained, appear to achieve a useful effect necessary.
According to the present invention, the wool is first neutralized with acids boiled and then brought into a block mixture, which contains an excess of chlorate contains. The same effect can be obtained by using some or all of the of the chlorate used for oxidation at the same time as the acid for neutralization has an effect. This way of preparing the wool fiber ensures smooth production of aniline black, without the fiber losing its flexing ability.
Embodiment: The wool is about 5 pCt. their weight of sulfuric acid or an equivalent amount of hydrochloric acid or a mixture of both and the usual amount of water and boiled for about 2 hours.
Die Waare wird- hierauf mit einer Anilinklotzmischung impra'gnirt, welche im 1 einen Ueberschufs von 40 bis 50 g Chlorat gegenüber der zur Oxydation des Anilins erforderlichen Menge enthält, so dafs nach dem folgenden Ausschleudern oder Ausquetschen die Wolle 2 bis 3 pCt.. ihres Gewichtes an Chlorat zurThe goods are then coated with an aniline block mixture which in comparison with an excess of 40 to 50 g of chlorate contains the amount necessary for the oxidation of the aniline, so that according to the following Hurling or squeezing the wool 2 to 3 pCt .. of its weight in chlorate
Ablödtung ihrer reducirenden Eigenschaften verfügbar hat.Detachment of their reducing properties.
As an example of a usable block mixture is mentioned, which in 1 approximately 85 g aniline, 25 g copper chloride, 25 g ammonia, 75 g sodium chlorate, 45 g acetic acid and 165 ecm Contains hydrochloric acid (16 ° B.). The proportions can change, free acid favors the color development. Other block blends used in cotton dyeing and printing can be used, provided that excess chlorate is added, as described above.
After padding, the color develops by hanging in the heated oxidation room in a few hours. One chromates with about 5 pCt. Alkali dichromate, rinses or soaps. For printing purposes, color development can be used can also be done by steaming.
The operation of dyeing can also be performed in the manner according to the present method that the wool with the addition of a chlorate or similar oxidizing agent is boiled down.
To carry out this procedure, the wool is, as stated above, about 5 pCt. their weight in sulfuric acid with the addition of about 2 pCt. Simmered chlorate and simmered for about 2 hours. A bit of copper salt can be added as a so-called catalyst.
The boiled wool is treated as above. The chlorate content of the block mix is correspondingly lower.
The dyeing of wool with aniline black becomes one as well by the present process simple, quick and reliable operation like dyeing cotton. The one next to The oxidation of the wool that takes place during neutralization is contrary to the previous one performed pretreatment with chlorinated lime and hydrochloric acid without significantly affecting the Wool fiber: the flexing ability of the fiber is retained. The creation of a hanging black takes a few hours.
