Description

KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL

PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.

The present invention relates to a double-pole collector electrode of the known type, in which the block consisting of effective mass is separated from an inwardly undercut Frame, and in which the ground block is also crossed in the middle by an impermeable layer, one transition of the ions from one half of the electrodes to the other has opposite poles Half prevented. This impermeable layer was previously made of a metal plate educated. Since the latter, if chosen thin, is easily exposed to destruction is, on the other hand, if it is thick, the weight of the electrode is greatly increased and the Pressures within the mass cannot follow, with the present electrode the impermeable layer either from a sheet of light and resistant, non-conductive material formed or produced by the fact that the middle layer with a closing the pores and not participating in the charge and discharge process Liquid, e.g. B. a solution of rubber, a rubber-containing substance such as Chatterton - Compound, Collodion, Asphalt 11. s. W. Soaks.

On the accompanying drawing such electrodes are for example in view and section shown.

The frame c surrounding the effective mass, which can be made of light, non-conductive material such as hard glass, ebonite or the like, is undercut like a channel so that the effective mass does not fall out, and when the positive mass is pressed the negative mass is pressed more firmly into its frame bearing. As usual, a lead strip is inserted into frame c for the power line. However, conductors can also be cemented into the effective mass itself.

In the case of the electrode shown in FIG. 1, the middle layer a is coated with a sealing substance, e.g. B. a solution of rubber, collodion, asphalt or Chatterton compound. In the case of the electrode shown in FIG. 2, however, the separating layer is formed by a flexible partition r, e.g. B. made of rubber skin.

The production is expediently carried out in such a way that the effective mass ρ forming a pole electrode is first smeared into the frame, allowed to dry, then the separating layer is applied and, after drying, the opposite-polar mass η is smeared in. In both embodiments, the effective mass hardens to form a mass block which is held together well by the frame c. The electrodes can be elastically installed in suitable vessels in a known manner by means of rubber rings k placed around them.
