The invention relates to a process for the production of diisopropylbenzene dihydroperoxides from oxidation mixtures, as in the oxidation of diisopropylbenzenes in the liquid state with oxygen or such containing gases are obtained by extracting the oxidation mixture with two not Miscible solvents of different polarity that are countercurrent to each other move, according to patent application B 53 726 IVb / 12 ο (German interpretation document 1 247 313).
In a further development of the process according to the main patent application it has now been found that the separation of the monohydroperoxide from the dihydroperoxide is expedient in two series-connected Separating columns can be made, with the first column only or for the most part the specific heavier solvent, in the second column only or predominantly the specific solvent lighter solvents are used.
In practice this is done in such a way that one z. B. in the two-column separation system in the first column introduces relatively large amounts of water and only small amounts of petroleum ether. The dihydroperoxide is practically completely washed out of the oxidation mixture. In the following treatment in the second separation column, in which only small amounts of water, but If increased amounts of petroleum ether are used, then the monohydroperoxide carried along from the first stage becomes extensively extracted from the dihydroperoxide, so that a very pure, easily cleavable one is obtained Dihydroperoxide receives. A mode of operation in which you only use the first column is particularly advantageous Water and the second column only works with petroleum ether.
vonDiisopropylbenzoldihydroperoxydenAfter carrying out the countercurrent extraction with water and petroleum ether in two separating columns connected in series, as described in the present invention, an organic phase with only a very small proportion of dihydroperoxide and an aqueous phase with only a very small proportion of monohydroperoxide can be obtained, which is the case with the simultaneous treatment of the oxidation mixture with petroleum ether and water in a column is not possible or only with great difficulty. A particular advantage arises if the separate washes are only carried out with one solvent at a time. In this case, the organic phase, now not diluted with petroleum ether, withdrawn at the top of the first column and largely free of dihydroperoxide, can be returned directly to the oxidation vessel without any further concentration
of diisopropylbenzene dihydroperoxides

Anschließend kann die organische Phase wieder der Kolonne 7 überAn example of an embodiment of the method according to the present invention is shown in the schematic drawing. The oxidation mixture passes from the oxidation vessel 1 via a line 2 to the countercurrent extraction column 3, where it enters the lower part of the column. In the upper part, water is supplied via line 4. Likewise, in the upper part of the column, the oxidation mixture extracted with water, which essentially only contains monohydroperoxide, is drawn off via line 5 and returned to the oxidation stage. The aqueous phase withdrawn from the lower part of the column 3 and containing essentially all of the dihydroxyperoxide in addition to small proportions of monohydroperoxide goes via line 6 to the column 7 and is introduced there again at the upper part. At the lower part of this column, the aqueous phase is removed with very pure dihydroperoxide and then goes through line 8 for extraction with z. B. methyl isobutyl ketone, which is fed to the extraction column via line 12. The organic phase, which is taken from the upper part of the column 7 and contains monohydroperoxide in a very small amount, can via line 9 to a z. B. go with Al 2 O 3 charged adsorption tower 10, where it is freed from monohydroperoxide. The organic phase can then return to the column 7

Line 11 are fed. But it is also possible the organic phase withdrawn at column 7 initially to circulate several times without the interposition of the adsorption tower until one some enrichment in monohydroperoxide has been achieved (not shown in the drawing). Afterward can be that obtained from this phase by distillation or other suitable separation Monohydroperoxide returned to the oxidation stage will.
3sThe separation of Diisoprqpylbenzoldihydroperoxid and -monohydroperoxyd can z. B. be carried out in such a way that with a separation system consisting of two columns in series in the lower part of the first column, 40 cm 3 of the Oxydatiönsgemisches with a content of 76.9% organic hydroperoxide, calculated on monohydroperoxide, can flow during 400 cm 3 of water per hour are added to the column from above. The aqueous phase withdrawn from the bottom of the first column is fed to the upper third of the second column. At the same time .man .this column feeds 240 cm 3 of petroleum ether per hour from below. The organic phase withdrawn at the top of the first column with a peroxide content of about 50%, calculated on monohydroperoxide, can be returned directly to the oxidation vessel. The aqueous phase withdrawn from the second column is fed to the upper part of an extraction column which is charged with 40 cm 3 of methyl isobutyl ketone every hour from below. An approximately 20% solution of a very pure dihydroperoxide methyl isobutyl ketone can be taken off at the top of this column. 3s
In the upper part of the second column there is an organic phase containing about 0.6% peroxide, calculated as Monohydroperoxide. You can have a with a strongly polar adsorbent, such as. B. Aluminum oxide, calcium carbonate, magnesium oxide, clays od. The like., Fed adsorption tower and thereby practically freed from the monohydroperoxide. The adsorbed peroxide can through Treat z. B. extracted with m-diisopropylbenzene from the adsorption tower from time to time and returned to the oxidation stage. One can also proceed in such a way that one follows the petroleum ether cycle continuously withdraws about a seventh (or less) of the amount of petroleum ether and replaced by fresh, peroxide-free petroleum ether.
This increases the peroxide concentration of the petroleum ether phase seven times (or more), however, there is no significant decrease in the degree of purity of the dihydroperoxide obtained.
The peroxide-containing organic phase continuously withdrawn from the petroleum ether cycle is transferred over a column distilled. This gives practically peroxide-free petroleum ether, which is returned to the cycle can be, and a residue consisting mainly of monohydroperoxide, which is fed back to the oxidation vessel.
With this procedure, when using the open amount of petroleum ether, based on the oxidation mixture used, the amount of petroleum ether to be distilled to 0.9 times (or even further).
