Rechen sind bekannte und vielseitig verwendete Arbeitsgeräte. Sie sind in abgewandelter Form in vielen Wirtschaftszweigen anzutreffen. Allen gemeinsam ist aber der starke Verschleiß der Rechenzähne, auch »Zinken« genannt. Die Zinken müssen dadurch öfter ausgewechselt und durch neue ersetzt werden, bevor der ganze Rechen gebrauchsunfähig wird.Rakes are well-known and widely used tools. Auch kennt man Rechen, bei denen Gummihülsen auf im Rechenhaupt festsitzende Zapfen geschoben sind und gabelförmige Zinken in diesen biegsamen Hülsen sitzen. Auch solche Zinken sind bekannt, die in federnde Halter eingesetzt sind, die ihrerseits wieder in das Rechenhaupt eingeschraubt werden.This exchange is usually done with the help of self-carved prongs.
