Description
Steering column switch for indicating the direction of travel in motor vehicles The invention relates to a steering column switch for the direction of travel display of Motor vehicles with a housing comprising the steering column, consisting of a Lower part attached to the steering column with built-in steering lock and a das The upper part of the housing closes the housing and acts as a switch pin and is closed at the top Switching ring is formed.
In the known steering column switches with a closed, rotatable Switching ring, which forms the upper part of the housing, are the switching parts on the upper part of the housing. and -bottom distributed. The moving parts during the switching process are known Versions arranged in the switching ring, the fixed ones in the switch housing. In the event of malfunctions in the electrical switching or reset system, the entire Switch removed and if necessary. be replaced. As long as in the steering lever switch housing only the switch for the direction indicator was housed, liked this tackle, since here the lower part of the housing consists of a more or less simple locking ring duration. By installing the ignition and steering lock in the lower part of the housing this is much larger and replacing this part is much more expensive and more awkward. A large structural unit is also not cheap in terms of production.
The invention is therefore based on the task of replacing once a defective switch to make it easier and cheaper and, on the other hand, theirs Simplify manufacturing.
According to the invention this object is achieved in that in the upper part a base plate is arranged which closes the upper part with respect to the lower part and rotatably held in the lower part, and that all so far on this base plate arranged in the lower part housed electrical switching and reset parts are, so that the upper part contains the entire switching and resetting device. Such a design of the steering column switch mentioned at the beginning can all Switching parts, both the electrical parts and the complete reset system, exchanged in the event of malfunctions in the switching or reset system and on its own be checked in all functions.
According to the invention, one serves to secure the base plate from rotating the same provided nose, which is in a cutout of the cylindrical upper inner wall of the lower part of the housing engages.
By combining all switching parts into one unit in the The upper part of the housing makes it easier to test the switch in production, since the unwieldy large lower housing part is no longer required here.
Further details of the invention are explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment which is shown in the drawings. It shows F i g. 1 shows the arrangement of a switch with a steering lock on the steering column of a motor vehicle from the rear, FIG. 2 the upper housing part and part of the lower housing part in the opposite FIG. 1 section rotated by 90 °, FIG. 3 the underside of the upper part of the housing with the base plate removed and FIG. 4 the bottom plate of the upper part in plan view. A steering column switch provided for indicating the direction of travel of motor vehicles is attached to a steering column 1 which encloses the steering column rigidly connected to a steering wheel 2. The housing of the steering column switch enclosing the steering column 1 is made up of two parts, the much larger lower part 3 with steering lock 4 and the ring-like upper part 5 with switch handle 6. In the upper housing part 5, a base plate 7 is arranged, which closes off the upper part with respect to the lower part. The base plate 7 has a nose which protrudes into a cutout 10 of the cylindrical upper inner wall 9 of the lower housing part 3 and is thus secured against rotation. Tabs are punched out of the base plate 7 and bent so that they serve as stops 13 for the return spring 14 mounted on the upper part. An insulating plate 11 with changeover contacts 12, for example by means of rivets, is also attached to the base plate. Contact bridges 17, which are fastened in the upper part, press onto the switching contacts 12. The switching pawls 18, which are pulled against each other by a spring 19, are also mounted on this. The attachment of the base plate to the upper part and its attachment to the lower part can be done by two circlips, which allow the parts to be released quickly and easily. To limit the rotary switching movement, the upper part has a nose 20 which, like the nose 8 of the base plate 7, protrudes into the cutout 10 of the inner wall 9 of the lower housing part.
