Um bei einem Handschuh, bei welchem Daumen und Handblatt aus einem zusammenhängenden Stück bestehen, unter guter Ausnutzung des Materials dem Daumen guten Sitz und gröfsere Beweglichkeit zu verleihen, wird, wie beiliegende Zeichnung ergiebt, der Daumen aus zwei Theilen hergestellt. Der innere Theil jB1 wird gebildet aus dem oberhalb des Ueberschlages D zur Verfügung stehenden Stoff, während der äufsere Theil B3 auf der anderen Seite des Musters angeschnitten wird. Durch das hierdurch bedingte Wegfallen der Nähte aus der Kehle des Daumengelenkes wird für denselben eine leichtere Beweglichkeit geschaffen. Die übrigen Finger werden so wie bisher beim geschnittenen Handschuh unter Einsetzen von Schichtein (Keilen) zusammengenäht, nur dafs sich die äufsere Längsnaht nicht beim kleinen, sondern beim Zeigefinger befindet.In order to give the thumb a good fit and greater mobility while making good use of the material in a glove in which the thumb and palm are made of a coherent piece, the thumb is made of two parts, as the accompanying drawing shows.
