The subject of the present invention is a method of production outstandingly hard, tough and weather-resistant sand-lime brick.
Das Verfahren besteht darin, dafs zunächstThe procedure consists in that first
Residues of the tar distillation are emulsified or saponified with soda, whereupon these , asphalt-like mixture is added to milk of lime. The mixture produced in this way serves to to bind the sand to be used and in. to transfer plastic form.
Die Mischungsverhältnisse sind folgende:The mixing ratios are as follows:
There come to 3/4 kg of soda about 4 1 Theerdestillationsrückstände and 130 1 of milk of lime, and the Mischungsverhältnifs is selected with the sand in such a way, that comes to 100 parts fine sand an approximately 5 to 10 weight parts deleted lime corresponding amount of the binder mixture.
The plastic mixture of sand and binders produced in this way is known in Way after mixing the whole brick as uniformly as possible under high pressure of about 250 atm. pressed into molds. the Bricks made in this way are placed on small wagons and initially at one temperature from 20 ° C left to stand for some time. They are then placed in a pressure vessel simultaneous exposure to carbon dioxide and superheated, dry steam a pressure of approx. 6 atm. exposed, whereupon the stones are immediately ready for use.
The chemical processes that come into play in this production method are about the following:
Aufserdem wird auch noch vor-The milk of lime acts on the emulsion of tar distillation residues and soda solution in such a way that while maintaining the EmuK sion the soda is causticized and a small part of that which is in strong excess Lime turns into carbonate of lime. The effective components of the binder are accordingly caustic lime, caustic soda, saponified or emulsified tar ingredients and carbonic acid Lime. This binding agent acts on the sand in the same way that the lime and the caustic soda attack the sand and with it a more or less large amount of lime and sodium silicate, probably for the Part in the form of a double silicate. This process is made by pressing high pressure, by which the substances are brought as close as possible to each other, accelerated and brought to an end by treatment with heated steam while at the same time the excess lime from the carbon dioxide introduced under pressure into Carbonate is converted and made indifferent in the same way as in the Drying of the mortar in the carbonated atmosphere is the case; so it will artificially produced the same process that would otherwise occur naturally when the mortar hardens is going. In addition, there is also
handenes Aetznatron in Carbonat übergeführt und so gleichfalls indifferent gemacht.existing caustic soda converted into carbonate and thus also made indifferent.
At the high temperature, furthermore, that which is present as an emulsion in the stone is distributed Tar substance evenly in the whole stone and thus leads to the resistance to atmospheric influences.
Es spielt also die Soda eine dreifache Rolle:So the soda plays a threefold role:
1. sie bewirkt die Emulsion mit der Theersubstanz, die sonst unmöglich wäre,1. it causes the emulsion with the tar substance, which would otherwise be impossible,
2. sie bewirkt die Bildung von Natronlauge durch den Aetzkalk und2. it causes the formation of caustic soda by the quicklime and
It thereby favors the attack of the silica with the formation of silicates, d. H.
dient also zur theilweisen Umwandlung der in Form von Sand zugesetzten krystallinischen Kieselsäure in als Bindemittel dienende Silikate.thus serves to partially transform the crystalline crystals added in the form of sand Silicic acid in silicates serving as binders.
