Den Gegenstand vorliegender Erfindung bildet ein nach Art der Uebergufsapparate arbeitender Waschkessel. Er setzt sich aus zwei Gefäfsen zusammen, von denen das äufsere das innere überragt, dessen Seitenwandung unten Oeffnungen für den Durchtritt des Wassers besitzt und in welchen eine durchlöcherte Bodenplatte durch geeignete Zwischenstücke über diesen Oeffnungen gehalten wird. Das zwischen den Böden der beiden Gefäfse befindliche Wasser steigt bei den bekannten Vorrichtungen infolge der Erwärmung durch die im Boden des inneren Gefäfses befindlichen Löcher direct nach oben und verhindert hierdurch das Niedersinken des in dem äufseren Ringraum emporgestiegenen Wassers. Der Kessel wird entweder mit entsprechendem Mauerwerk umgeben oder frei aufgestellt und kann in beliebiger Weise geheizt werden. Der äufsere Kessel ist durch einen Deckel geschlossen, der zweckmäfsig zu einem Wasserreservoir ausgebildet sein kann, um die Wärme des entstehenden Dampfes zur Vorerwärmung des Wassers nutzbar zu machen. Die Wirkungsweise des Kessels ist folgende: Beim Heizen des Kessels wird das darin befindliche Wasser am Boden und den Wänden am stärksten erhitzt. Das am Boden befindliche Wasser wird hierdurch nach den Seiten gedrängt, ändert hier seine Richtung und ver-' einigt sich mit der aufwärts gerichteten Strömung des zwischen den beiden Wänden erhitzten Wassers.
