Screwless, clip-on connecting clamps for rail ends In busbar systems, especially those of an encapsulated design, the establishment of the connections between the rail ends is often made more difficult by the confined space. Electrically correct screw connections are time consuming and, due to the possibility of insufficient tightening, are associated with defects. In addition, each screw connection results in an electrically effective reduction in cross-section, which is compensated for by adding a profile, which takes up more space.
There has been a move towards using screwless, clip-on rail clamps for connecting the rail ends facing one another with their end faces. For this purpose, two contact jaws are used, which are pressed against the rail ends by a U-shaped spring. The known connecting terminals of this type have the disadvantage that when the contact jaws are slipped onto the rails, the spring force has to be overcome over a long distance. This applies both in the event that the U-shaped spring is already seated on the contact jaws before the contact jaws are placed on the rails, as well as in the event that the spring is subsequently pulled onto the contact jaws placed on the rails. This second bending open of the spring is cumbersome and often inconvenient when the space is limited.
The invention relates to an improvement of a screwless, attachable rail clamp for connecting rail ends, the two contact jaws has, which can be pressed by a spring against the rail ends. According to the invention, the contact jaws in the unmated state form an intermediate space between two support points lying on top of one another to accommodate a means (e.g. tool) serving to spread the contact jaws and are formed at their ends for inserting the rail ends into openings extending from the longitudinal sides of the jaws. The connecting clamp according to the invention can easily be applied to the rails even at high contact pressures. For example, by means of a tool that is designed in the shape of a wedge, the contact jaws can be conveniently spread, so that the connecting clamp can be pushed onto the rail ends with little effort, in particular with force. If the tool is then removed, the contact jaws snap against the rail ends and establish a secure connection. A particular advantage is that the tool is inserted into the connecting terminal in the same direction in which it is applied to the rail ends. Therefore, no additional space is required next to the connecting terminal for the actuation of the connecting terminal. In order to remove the connecting clamp from the rail ends, the contact jaws are spread apart by the means so that they can be pulled off the rail ends. Under certain circumstances, it is even possible to pull off the connecting clamp without actuating the means. The spreading of the contact jaws makes it possible to provide measures on the contact jaws or rails to secure their mutual position in the operating state, which without the possibility of spreading would make it more difficult to mount the connecting terminal. A further advantageous embodiment of the connecting terminal according to the invention consists in that the openings of the contact jaws which are used for inserting the rail ends are V-shaped.

An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing. It shows F i g. 1 the connecting clamp according to the invention in a plan view, FIG. 2 to 8 details on the contact jaws of the connecting terminal and FIG. 9 to 12 different positions of the contact jaws when placing the connecting clamp. The screwless, clip-on rail clamp according to the invention is used to connect the rail ends 1, 1 ', which have a rectangular cross-section. The rail ends facing each other with the end faces do not abut each other, but are at a distance from each other when connected by the clamp according to the invention. The Schienenklenune according to the invention consists of two contact jaws 2, 3, which are embossed with the formation of crankings. The two contact jaws 2, 3 are pressed against one another by a U-shaped, comprehensive spring 4. The spring 4 engages in grooves 5 of the contact jaws to ensure a secure fit of the spring.

an zwei Stützstellen 7, 8 aufeinander.
The contact jaws 2, 3 are expediently only in their middle part from the spring 4 to, '# aj'z # t. The free ends of the contact jaws are to Kontakta - -.. "Abe with the rail ends configured as in particular the F i g 2 and 3 show, the free ends with 2n shapes, eg with 1,7orsprüngen 6, provided. , on which the rail ends are t'ülirt after the rail clamp has been plugged in. The Kentakt jaws lie on top of one another in the unplugged state at two support points 7, 8. The surfaces on which the two contact jaws touch do not need to be from one broad side to the other broad side .. to extend the contact jaws, as the F i g 6, 8 and 9, the contact point takes only etv; a two-thirds the width of the contact jaws an on the other third off, such as the F i g 9, the.. is opposite faces of the contact jaw. essential that the Fedzr 4 engages the locations of the contact jaws, the connecting line through the mutual touch the contact jaws C el surfaces passes. at the support points 7, 8 are expedient The two contact jaws are provided with projections 9 and depressions 10 at which the contact jaws interlock, so that there is security against displacement. According to the invention, the two contact jaws, in the unmated state, form an intermediate space 11 between the support points 7 and 8 for receiving a means serving to spread the contact jaws. This means is preferably a tool in the form of a screwdriver 12. It can also be another wedge-shaped object. The agent can be permanently in the rail clamp and operated from the outside. For example, an eccentric that can be operated from the outside is suitable for this.
die in F i a,. 12 gezeigte Lage ein.
The F i g. 1 shows the rail clamp according to the invention when it is placed on the rail ends 1, 1 ". So that the rail ends can be more easily inserted into the clamp, the contact jaws 2, 3 according to the invention are already in the unplugged state at their ends for inserting the rail ends into openings 13 The openings 13 are expediently V-shaped. In order to bring the rail clamp into its final operating position, the tool 12 (screw target) is inserted into the space 11 , as FIGS. 10 and 11 show . By the insertion of the tool, the contact jaws, that the rail ends, such as the F i g. 10, can einrutschen clock bake Ko. between the spread in this way. When the tool is removed, taking the contact shoes against the rail ends in F i a, 12. The rail ends are tightly spanned by the contact jaws by the spring, so that a highly conductive connection is created.
In order to be able to remove the rail clamp, the tool is again pressed into the space 11 of the clamp, whereby the contact jaws open.
